Hello readers, in this article, I will provide you with a detailed Next Chair Review. My old home office chair started giving me problems around the end of summer 2020. It was never intended for the home office, but it has served me well in that capacity. It was a strong chair,

although it wasn’t very ergonomic. After a few weeks of gathering information and narrowing down my options, I made the order for the new chair in mid-September 2020. I finally decided on the NextChair Ergonomic Chair. Now, after 7+ months of using the chair, I decided it was time to offer my thoughts.

At the end of November, I finally received my chair. Secret Labs may have a lengthy shipping delay, however they did fulfill the estimate they provided me when I placed my purchase. The shipment was delivered on November 19th, despite the arrival estimate of November 25th.

The chair’s packing was excellent: all of the pieces were well labeled, everything was there, and it had the sense of a premium-tag all over it. More significantly, the chair was simple to assemble thanks to the included instructions. I accomplished it all by myself, and it didn’t take long. I remember being in a rush as well, since there was an event coming on and I was anxious to change my chair with the new one.

When I opened the shipment, everything was wrapped individually, and a walk-in guide was immediately evident.

Final Thoughts after 7 Months of Usage I was hesitant to submit any evaluations before this. I’ve had the NextChair Ergonomic Chair for almost 7 months. I had to alter it a lot more at first until I found an acceptable stance for me. The NextChair Ergonomic Chair is a large chair that is also a hard chair in that it is built to accommodate bigger individuals, hence it is stiffer in different sections. Because this chair

is also meant for taller individuals (I am merely overweight), the height adjustment does not go as low as I would like, but I discovered a simple solution using a standing mat to replace those missing 2 cm. The front of the chair has pulled down somewhat over time, so the minor height difference is no longer present.

The chair provides excellent support for me. On those few instances when I need to, I may rest on it by changing the backrest. This Secret Lab video demonstrates how to tweak it extremely well:

Benefits and Drawbacks of Next Chair Ergonomic Chair Most of the time, it is carefree/easy to care for and feels lovely, but clearly on certain hotter days (yes, even in Finland). It also becomes heated at times. No, it doesn’t turn into a sauna, but it also doesn’t breathe very well. It’s not as horrible as I thought, but if you sweat easily, you should keep this in mind. Perhaps Secret Lab will add a cooling system to its high-end versions one day.

The locking mechanism isn’t perfect. Even when the chair is fixed into a position, there is always a gap that permits it to move slightly. It’s not much, but it detracts from the overall quality (why does a 500 euro chair have this gap in the locking mechanism?). This worried me more at first, but I’ve become used to it.

I appreciate how I can adjust the armrests forward and back. It would be much better if there was more space to move about. I haven’t utilized sideways movement much: I put them at the widest position and left them there since it complements the stance of my arm.

The important thing is that after 7 months, I don’t notice any wear on it. There are no new noises or gaps – it’s virtually as it was the first time I sat on it. The most noticeable are creases on the front of the seat caused by weight and legs pulling down on it. This chair should endure a long time as long as the front doesn’t lose its suppleness.

Yes, I’m glad I bought this chair. It’s not ideal, but it meets my requirements nicely for the price. If the ideal version cost 1000 euros, I doubt I would pay the extra. Of course, there are office chairs in different price ranges, but this seemed to be the perfect fit for me.
