Northeast names spring president’s list BOONEVILLE — Two hundred and fifteen (215) Northeast Mississippi Community College students achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale for the 2015 spring semester and as a result have been named to the college’s distinguished President’s List. Colley earns ICC scholarship Scholarship recipients at Itawamba Community College for 2015 include Madison Colley of Corinth, Academic, Leadership. Colley is a 2015 graduate of Corinth High School where she participated in
La Femme Fatale (president), volleyball, soccer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, Drama Club, Key Club, Interact and Pep Club. Her honors include second place in human
anatomy and physiology and in Mississippi Scholars and captain of both volleyball and soccer. Colley’s other activities are community service and completion in MTA shows. She is the daughter of Pam Colley.

Freed-Hardeman honors local students Freed-Hardeman University has released names of Alcorn County students on the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must earn a minimum GPA of 3.40 while taking
at least 12 credit hours. Students from Alcorn County making the Dean’s List were Sam Glover, from Glen, senior Bible major; and Lydia Hickman, from Corinth, senior chemistry major. Freed-Hardeman
University is a private, four-year university. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees, as well as a doctorate in education.
McDonnieal receives scholarship to ICC Scholarship recipients at Itawamba Community College for 2015 include Brian William McDonnieal of Corinth, ACT Special Incentive. McDonnieal is a 2011 graduate of Corinth High
School where he participated in cross country, tennis and track. His honors include 12 state championships for cross country, tennis and track. He is the son of Don and Lisa McDonnieal.

Students recognized Eleven students were recognized at the 18th annual Kiwanis/Leon Frazier Memorial Scholarship event on June 5 at the Corinth Coliseum. The 2015 scholarship winners included Luke Osborn, Kossuth High School; Easton Treadway, Corinth High School; Austin McCalister, Alcorn Central High School; Reid Burns, CHS; Peyton Eldridge, CHS; Abie Trimm, KHS; and Madison Switcher, KHS. Not pictured include Cole Martin, Biggersville High School; Lauren Troxell, BHS; Kendall Patterson, CHS; and Trip Pittman, CHS. To date, $184,000 has been given in college scholarships to area high school seniors. In addition, Corinth Kiwanis funds two scholarships for local Key Club members. Those scholarships are awarded from the Club general funds and are paid over and above the $184,000.
