Message from the Board of Directors

As we reflect on another year at Da Daghay Development Corporation (DDDC), we are reminded of our enduring commitment to assist Ta’an Kwäch’än Council (TKC) in achieving financial independence. Since our inception in 1989, our mission has been rooted in fostering community well-being, economic growth, and the empowerment of our youth. This report highlights our journey and accomplishments, affirming our dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for TKC citizens and contributing to the broader community.

This past year has been a significant milestone for DDDC, marked by a strong commitment to local employment and community service. We take great pride in employing young TKC citizens, and our workforce extends to individuals from outside the TKC who share a passion for uplifting our community. Every member of our team strives to serve our citizens with respect and dedication, ensuring that our initiatives are grounded in the needs and aspirations of those we represent.

We are excited to announce that 2024 has been one of our most successful years to date. Our accomplishments reflect not only the hard work of our team but also the invaluable support from our community partners. A key highlight has been our strategic dealings with Northwestel and Sixty North Unity, which span all three territories across the north and involve various Yukon First Nations partners.

These partnerships represent a significant step forward in enhancing connectivity and resources for our communities, paving the way for future growth and collaboration. Additionally, we are thrilled to update citizens on the construction progress of the new 105 unit housing project, Winter Crossing.

This development is DDDC's testament to our continuing commitment to address the housing needs of Yukoners, with an anticipated completion date for the first couple of buildings will be fall season of 2025. The remainder of the buildings are on target to be completed in 2026. DDDC believes that providing access to affordable housing is fundamental to community well-being and we are dedicated to ensuring that we provide an option for TKC citizens have safe, comfortable places to call home.

As we look to the future, we are filled with optimism. The successes of this past year are just the beginning of what we envision for DDDC and TKC. We remain committed to building on our achievements and exploring new opportunities that will benefit TKC citizens and the region. Our vision is clear: “…to be a strong and effective leader in Yukon’s economy, where TKC Citizens can access employment and other economic opportunities to help achieve their aspirations for a strong and vibrant future.”

In conclusion, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us on this journey. Together, we are not just building infrastructure and services; we are nurturing a community where every citizen can flourish. Message from Leadership

As we look back on the past year, we are proud to celebrate significant milestones achieved by Da Daghay Development Corporation and our commitment to fostering sustainable growth and community development. This year marks the exciting commencement of construction on our Winter Crossing project, where we are building 105 much-needed housing units to build up our property management portfolio. This initiative not only addresses the housing shortage in our region but also serves as a testament to our dedication to enhancing the quality of life for our community members. With this project, we are laying the groundwork for a brighter, more inclusive future.

In addition to Winter Crossing, we are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with three esteemed organizations to form West End Developments. This collaboration has proven pivotal, culminating in the Yukon Government’s decision to sell us the former 5th and Rogers property. Now known as Kèjän and Rogers, this site represents a prime opportunity for further development and community enhancement. Our collective efforts will ensure that this land is transformed into a vibrant space that meets the diverse needs of our community while fostering economic growth.
