A Night to Remember Division 41 North Banquet, April 30 6-9pm

By Jaclyn Liu

In sight of people dressed in suits, tuxedos, dresses, heels, and stunning attire, the Division 41 North Key Club Banquet was the perfect note to conclude an amazing year of service to the community. The banquet could simply be described on MerriamWebster as “an elaborate and formal evening meal for many people,” but certainly for most people, it was a reunion where friends gathered together and recalled all their joyous memories made in Key Club. For a few people, it was only the beginning of their Key Club journey, but for several others, it was a place where they were able to enhance and share their experience in high school. It captured moments that will always be in the hearts of many who believe Key Club is truly a place for people to represent and help their community, especially the ones who are heading off to college.

By the time the sunset faded into the night sky, love and joy filled the room as Vince Nguyen and Vanessa Yang gave their final speeches to a place where people bonded together as one unit, not just separate individuals. Those unforgettable moments of laughter as people dined together and were nominated with the most hilarious titles for the Superlative Awards were truly something that made the night spectacular. In addition to honoring exceptional Members with the Lieutenant Governor Award, the Individual Awards, and the Club Awards, Advisors, Officers, and Members of the Club gave speeches and told stories about how they felt about being a part of Key Club. Despite the night passing so quickly, the cries of happiness and laughter were no comparison to the solidarity and pride one feels serving for Key Club. It is an experience that cannot be explained in simple words, but rather can only be found through purposeful actions.

Magic. Fantasy. Cinderella’s castle. Mickey Mouse. What better way to spend your Sunday than at the happiest place on Earth? On May 6, the annual Tinkerbell Half-Marathon was held at Disneyland in Anaheim. With probably only two hours of sleep and a quick coffee boost, a dedicated team of more than 50 members came out to volunteer and cheer for the runners. At 2:00am in the morning, these Froggies had a positive, feel-good attitude and energetic vibe that kept everyone pumped and moving the entire time. From handing out water, to congratulating finishers with Disney-themed medals, this all would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and bright smiles that lit up the night by every single one of you guys. Rock on! Shout out to Kevin Qu for coordinating the event and as well as all the previous work he had done. You will be missed! Inclusively everyone did an amazing job and we hope to see you all again next year!
