Ice-Skating DCM -Martmariam Mikhail,

Happy New Year everyone! Ipoly was on break to celebrate the holidays with family and friends which meant we had no meeting for this month. That didn’t stop fellow members from celebrating break with their key club friends. Some of our Ipoly students participated in our most recent DCM which was Ice Skating.

Who doesn’t love going ice skating in the winter? Members made sure to stay warm by wearing jackets and constantly moving to warm up their bodies. As members held on the wall for support, they shared a bond of laughter that will create a memory they won’t ever forget. When interviewed afterwards about ice skating, Samantha Trazo, our club’s vice president says “Brushing up on my ice skating skills while getting to bond with fellow Key Clubbers was so much Fun! I had a blast!”. Ipoly would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

BeanBean Bean -Khang Le

Sometimes around December to the first of January of 2024, our key club did an event that helped to donate to charity while each of our club members was participating answering a different question from a different school subject, which it called BeanBeanBean. Each of the questions that we have answered correctly, will donate beans to charity. Our club President, Addison Barnes said, “ Since the first semester is over and we're gonna go on our breaks, it would be a good idea if we did a visual event that helped other people during our breaks .”

7

This leads to our club members agreeing with the idea. And our club president, Addison Barnes said, “The event is online and you just need to take an educational quiz, and they're gonna give beans for every question that you get right .” This emphasizes that this event will help us to study, and test our knowledge on whatever subject we want while helping other people around the world. And, there have been over 100,000 players around the world that participated, which lead to helping out over 30 million beans that have been donated to many people. Furthermore, it is a virtual volunteering event, which means we can play anywhere and anytime we wish.

Canned Food & Goods Sorting -Baharullah Mahin This month, our Ellie’s participated in the Canned Food and Goods sorting event hosted by Walnut Key Club. This year was the largest turnout we had for this annual event, vastly expediting the process and allowing us to finish a day earlier than planned! Ellie's had a blast gathering together with their friends everyday after finals as they helped sort the canned goods collected for Key Club’s annual food drive. The sorted canned goods were distributed to needy families at a later event, adding an element of cheer to their celebration of the holiday season.

Volunteers sorted the cans by type of food, then filled small bags with each type of canned goods. At the end, they enjoyed eating pizza together and distressing after their exams. Walnut Key Club officer Joe Li reflects, “This was a fun way to end this semester and I really enjoyed the time spent with my friends at the club after exams were over.”
