From The editor!

happy november! I hope everyone is staying warm and healthy throughout this month as the weather gets colder! Thank you everyone for coming to our Division 7 Joint DCM. We didn’t expect such a high attendance! It was a blast playing Among Us and getting to meet people from other divisions. Also thank you to our LTGS and DLT members for your hard work! We will have another DCM soon on the 21st, and have a service project folding cranes for cancer patients the following day. I hope to see you all there! One hour of service will be earned by attending this event. Lastly, I hope you have a nice Fall break this month. Take this time to relax and de-stress, you deserve it! Don’t forget to follow our Instagram @d07wghosts for more updates.

From The

ltg!

Hey ghosts! Thank you all for making a fantastic spooKEY October! Last month, we had a record number of members at the Division 7 Joint DCM. 113 members logged in and participated, which was more than the number of ghosts at any other event, including Region Training Conference! I look forward to seeing more and more members attend division events! Please also look forward to our November DCM on November 21st from 11AM - 12PM. This will be followed by our November Service project on November 22nd from 11AM - 12PM. Log in to make cranes for cancer patients and earn up to one service hour! Also, Candidate Training Conference will be hosted on December 12th. Please attend if you are interested in running for Lieutenant Governor for the 2021-22 term! Please email me d07w.cnhkc.ltg@gmail.com with any questions about CTC or about becoming a candidate for Lieutenant Governor. Please stay safe, and I’ll see you soon!

davis high Staff appreciation Especially during virtual school, staff appreciation is deserved and important. Key clubbers signed up to send staff letters, and also sent letters of appreciation to their own teachers. Letters to all of their teachers = 1 hour, plus an extra 0.5 hours for every additional staff member, up to two staff members.

yolo food bank + dalgona bakery stickers

vote forward

Ghosts could draw/ design their own stickers for Dalgona Bakery’s Redbubble sticker shop! They sent their designs to a Dalgona Slack for approval. An approved sticker = 1 hour of service.

We offered hours of service to Key Clubbers who volunteered for the Yolo Food Bank, providing food for families in need. Volunteering slots varied, and ghosts signed up on the food bank’s website.

Key Clubbers wrote letters to prospective voters, encouraging them to vote! The letters were mailed out on October 17.

hampton’s community

halloween

On the 31st of October 2020, the Inderkum Key Club attended a Hampton’s community Halloween event. There were helmet distribution and monitoring, set up, package candy distribution, social distancing monitoring, and clean up after the event. The event was from 9 am-1 pm. All of the members attending filled out a COVID19 consent form and were encouraged to dress up.

On the 26th of October 2020, we introduced an event called “Letters of Luv”. The members wrote letters of luv to the medically disadvantaged kids at Sacramento’s Ronald McDonald Charity House. The goal was to write at least 40 letters considering the rooms at the organization. We signed it from Inderkum, Key Club.

On the 5th of October 2020, we introduced an event called “help families in the shelter”. The members were to knit scarves and hats for the families in shelter. Later on, the officers held a drop off on the 1st of November from 12-2 pm. The event was a success, and we collected 18 hats and 12 scarves in total. We donated them to the Family Promise of Sacramento.

DCM

On Saturday, October 24, the October DCM was held with other D7 clubs. During this DCM, members were able to play a variety of fun games, including Among Us, with other clubs of D7. At our D7W DCM, clubs were able to share any updates and we discussed our division updates, DCON, the SpooKEY Spirit Week, and spooKEY point rankings. At the end, members had the chance to win fun gift baskets! This was such a fun way to interact with other clubs in D7N and D7S!

blanket

making

On Friday, October 23rd, we held the materials pick up and then on Sunday, October 25th, members were able to learn how to make their blanket over zoom. On November 1st, we held our drop off event to collect the blankets. Each member was given two pieces of fabric so that they could cut the strips and tie them together to create their blanket. We were able to make 19 blankets! All of these blankets were donated to a local shelter so that they could be distributed to

board meeting On Friday, October 30th, we held a board meeting to prepare for our club meeting in November. During this meeting, we discussed events for November, possible fundraisers that our club could hold, and division t-shirts. Some of the events that we planned for November were a Recycling Drive and a Veterans Day Card Making event.

book drive

On Saturday, October 17th, our club held a bookmark making event over zoom. Using any materials that they had at home, members were able to make bookmarks while watching a movie. Then, the bookmarks that our members made were dropped off to us the next weekend at our book drive. These bookmarks were made for the children at Shores of Hope.

8

On Sunday, October 18th, we held a book drive so that our members could drop off any gently used books. Along with our bookmarks, these books were donated to Shores of Hope for the children to read.
