How's it been? School has pretty much kept me busy for the entire month and it's only going to get busier from here. Not looking forward to it. But besides that, its been pretty I nice. I joined some clubs at my school and created one of my own! During September we will have a club rush, so I'm just preparing for that. Speaking of club rush, in this month's newsletter I included some tips

Hey Ghosts!

club rush! I hope everyone is able to recruit more members and reach their goals! I struggled a lot coming up with this month's theme but it's not so bad. Just a lot of informational things in this newsletter. If you have any questions regarding anything ask your club officers or email the DLT! I hope to see everyone at the RTC on the 25th this month! Until Next Time,

Khadijah Muhammad

I hope the first month of school went well for you all as we are now in September! Some clubs had club rush and I hope every club was able to recruit some more members! I’m so grateful for each and every one of you for taking time to be a part of Key Club! We had a wonderful August DCM on August 14th, 2021 from 2:00 - 3:00pm. Congratulations to Isaiah Castillo, our T-Shirt Contest winner! The design is absolutely adorable! Additionally, I’m happy to announce that our additional spirit item this term will be…. TOTE BAGS!! Be on the lookout for a tote bag design contest!

On top of Key Club business, September is a very special month as it is actually SERVEtember! Club officers, make sure to look through that bucket list and submit the form once you have completed the list! Your club will be recognized at DCON for participating in SERVEtember!! As for members, make sure to continue serving your community, as I know you always do! <3 Best Wishes,

Lii Teh

CM cap

On August 14, we had our monthly DCM. Like our previous DCMs, this one was done over zoom. As of now, we haven’t had an in-person DCM together as a division but are hoping to be able to transition from virtual DCMs to something in-person. In this DCM, we began with an ice breaker. Li, the LTG, asked ne’s thoughts now that they are back in school since the division began again this week. After the ice revealed the poll results of the division members' cream flavor. Chocolate and Mint Chocolate were out 21% with Cookies and Crème at 14.3%. Then, we ess and went over things the division goals. In the managed to raise $63 from Donate-A-Dare and have ogged. Li then told us about future fundraising service event that will continue until August 30th. called it a the meeting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: 1..Who is eligible? Any dues paid member that has paid by December 1st from clubs in good standing throughout the Cali-Nev-Ha Key Club District is eligible. A member may not start counting service hours or other MRP requirements until their dues are paid. If you were already a dues paid member of Key Club in the previous year and are in good standing, you may count summer hours. Those who transfer schools may also have their hours transferred over to the new school that they attend.

2. When is the MRP applicable? All Key Club sponsored activities held from April 1st, 2021 to February 5th, 2022 count towards the MRP award.

3. Do I need to submit anything for MRP? The Member Recognition Program is recorded by your club Secretary, meaning they should be the ones keeping track of your MRP status. You do not need to submit anything yourself as a member, but make sure your club submits their club MRP data on time and accurately to your Division Lt. Governor.

4. How do I keep track of my MRP status? It is recommended that you keep track of your own hours and events attended, even if your club already does it for you. Member Recognition Program is recorded on its respective tab in the club Secretary’s Monthly Report Form.

5. Can a single event be counted within two different categories? Yes. Some events fall under multiple categories. For example, if your club hosts a beach clean-up service project with your local Kiwanis Club, this would count towards both and “Kiwanis Event” and possibly “Interclub.”

6. How do I determine how much money I’ve raised for MNT if I fundraised with my club? If a member participates in a club fundraiser for the Eliminate Project, the amount that will go toward the member’s “Lives Saved” section on the MRP will equal the total funds raised from the event (profit) divided by the number of members who participated in the fundraiser. That amount is counted as how much YOU fundraised, then you divide that number by $1.80, because $1.80 is the price for a vaccine to save a life. This remaining number is the number of lives saved from MNT.

articles & visuals... For the month of September.

INDERKUM HIGH SCHOOL. On July 16th, the Youth Action Corps of Sacramento organized a movie night at one of our Natomas parks which also required some of our fellow Key Clubbers to come and serve as they were interns! Our members took shifts during the evening, and the maximum amount of hours that one member could get was 7. During this event, volunteers helped people get situated into circles that were drawn on the grass as a social distancing method!

RIVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL. July 28th we had our board meeting. We are planning new events for the members so that we can have the same communication before COVID. Also we have planned for a board bonding day so that when we are in person doing meetings and presentations we are all comfortable. Before going to the freshmen orientation, we had a board making trifold event at the park. Everyone wore a mask, keeping it COVID friendly. We had more than 80 sign ups but we have yet to wait for the membership!
