Visitors are encouraged to access our website featuring detailed information as well as MAPS to assist in locating each studio or workspace. Η ετήσια αυτή διοργάνωση προσφέρει στον επισκέπτη την δυνατότητα να γνωρίσει καλλιτέχνες και τεχνίτες, οι οποίοι ζουν και εργάζονται στην Κύπρο στα δικά τους στούντιο, στο δικό τους χώρο δημιουργίας. Οι επισκέπτες παρακαλούνται να επισκεφθούν την ιστοσελίδα μας που διαθέτει λεπτομερείς πληροφορίες, καθώς και ΧΑΡΤΕΣ που θα βοηθήσουν στον εντοπισμό του κάθε στούντιο.

Individual participants elected specific days to be open to the public – please look at the individual entries and the schedule to avoid disappointment.

Entrance is free and visitors are under no obligation to buy, but we live in hope!

And don’t forget to enter the competition: Ask at any studio for an entry form or download it from the website. Many of the participants undertake commissions – please consult with them direct.

Banners bearing the distinctive orange splash will be displayed near the entrance to each open studio. Should you require specific information, please contact the studio or artist direct – you will be assisted. Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη! και οι επισκέπτες δεν έχουν καμία υποχρέωση να αγοράσουν έργα… Μην ξεχάσετε να δηλώσετε συμμετοχή στον διαγωνισμό: Ζητήστε την αίτηση συμμετοχής από οποιοδήποτε στούντιο ή κατεβάστε την από την ιστοσελίδα μας. Πολλοί από τους συμμετέχοντες αναλαμβάνουν επίσης παραγγελίες – μιλήστε μαζί τους απευθείας. Πανό που φέρει το χαρακτηριστικό πορτοκαλί splash θα τοποθετηθεί κοντά στην είσοδο κάθε ανοικτού στούντιο. The participants are listed in strict alphabetical order here and on our website. You can also download this catalogue from the website.

In the centre of this catalogue you will find a map and a schedule indicating who will be open, where and when. Our website features Google maps that are more detailed – please consult those if possible. Καλλιτέχνες σε όλη την Κύπρο συμμετέχουν στην ετήσια εκδήλωση Cyprus Open Studios 2018. Μπορείτε να βρείτε τους συμμετέχοντες καλλιτέχνες, σε αλφαβητική σειρά εδώ και στην ιστοσελίδα μας. Μπορείτε επίσης να τυπώσετε τον κατάλογο αυτό. The artists and artisans include sculptors, potters, painters, glass workers, jewellers and many more talented people who work in styles from naïve to realistic to abstract and more. They also come from a variety of backgrounds, countries and cultures.

They rely on you to make this experience enjoyable and memorable, as you travel from mountain villages to bustling cities and on the way, stop off to look at the scenery and enjoy Cyprus hospitality.

This event is mainly funded and promoted by the artists themselves. The organisers wish to express their gratitude to each participant for sharing their passion with the public.

Στηρίζονται σε σας ώστε η εμπειρία σας να είναι απολαυστική και αξέχαστη, καθώς θα ταξιδεύετε σε ορεινά χωριά και πολυσύχναστες πόλεις … Η όλη διοργάνωση (ιστοσελίδα, εκτυπωτικά, κλπ) χρηματοδοτείται σχεδόν εξ ολοκλήρου από τους ίδιους τους καλλιτέχνες, και για το λόγο αυτό η ομάδα διαχείρισης ευχαριστεί θερμά στους καλλιτέχνες που μοιράζονται το πάθος τους με το κοινό.

We are a ten minute walk from all the amenities that include taverns, bars, ATM, bus service, supermarket, gift shops and jetty for the boats to Telendos.

The beaches of Melitsahas and Mytries are within ten minutes’ walk of the property. The next village of Masouri is about twenty minutes’ walk.

Masouri is the main information area for climbing activities on Kalymnos.

As a guest of Sophie’s Boutique Home we can also provide additional information regarding visiting another part of the island or Greece.

Looking for a romantic route?

Near Polis Chrysochous you will find the Baths of Aphrodite, where the Goddess reputedly met with her lover, Adonis.

An unusual view of Paphos Harbour. Here you will find the famous archaeological park with stunning mosaics dating from Roman times.

The Paphos district is also home to a magnitude of artists and artisans – take a tour of the catalogue and schedule and plan a wonderful day or two out.

Stavrovouni Monastery is close to the village of Lefkara – both worth a visit!

Ten thousand years of history and culture. A country’s cultural heritage is the most important living treasure of its people. It is through this that its identity can be expressed and an awareness of its historical continuity through time can be created. Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and is situated at the crossroads of three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. This geographic position has since antiquity played an important part in the island’s turbulent history. Its prehistoric age inhabitants were joined by the Mycenaean Greeks 3500 years ago, who introduced and established their civilisation, thus permanently instilling the island’s Greek roots. Many other cultures followed since then, including the Phoenicians, Assyrians, Franks, Venetians, Ottomans, British, all leaving behind visible traces of their passage.

Chlorakas

BETTS, Karen Karen sculpts in limestone and also in cement/fibreglass/resin mixes. She also paints in an abstract style using fusions of water- and oil-based materials. Kato Paphos

COOK, Carrie

Carrie can genuinely be described as an Artiste Extraordinaire. She creates works of art, using organic matter and randomly found objects, often in various states of aging as the elements take their course. She does not use any manmade products in her pieces in these projects in her Bizarre Surreal Organic Dot Ink studio. She also uses dried wild plant materials in unique compositions. She is also a keen photographer, inspired by the sunsets and sunrises in her hometown of Paphos. She is a qualified garden designer (“Gardens by Design”) and starts bonsai trees from scratch in the Yasuko tradition. Την Carrie μπορεί κανεις να περιγράψει ως μία Artiste Extraordinaire. From the Kings Avenue Mall roundabout, travel eastwards along the duel carriageway in the direction of Geroskipou. Pass through the traffic lights with the large church on your right and at the next set of traffic lights with a petrol station on the corner, turn left into Sotiraki Markidi Avenue. The Bizarre Surreal Organic studio is on the right hand side next to the red Cava/kiosk, tucked away behind a property developer’s frontage. Look out for the banner to guide you in. Directions / Οδηγίες : At the top end of Tala, exit the roundabout towards Koili. Follow the road through the ravine and take the second turning to the right into Mary Leptos Street and continue up and over the hill - about 500m. Take first left into Aphrodite Street (Rododafni/Ambelia sign). At the T-junction, turn left and then take the first left into Ailou Street. EMPHIETZI HARRIS, Marina Marina's work explores issues of time, life and memory. Through painting she channels life experiences into works of art. Her style and compositions show the natural forms of a real world in a semi-abstract, expressionistic and/or conceptualistic way. Her work has been described as “a reflection and celebration of life in a symbolic manner.”

Τα έργa της Μαρίνας εξετάζoυν θέματα χρόνου, ζωής και μνήμης. Με τη ζωγραφική μεταφέρει τις εμπειρίες της από τη ζωή σε έργα τέχνης. GAJIN, Christine Christine is primarily concerned with the sea and organic life within. She creates assemblage artworks representing humanity’s destruction of nature. Combining paint and textile techniques alongside the collection of found or recycled objects, her artworks represent abstracted seascapes that ask the viewer to consider their own role as caretakers of our planet. Directions / Οδηγίες : Drive on the main A1 highway to Limassol. Continue on the highway until you see the exit (no. 21) for Pyrgos / Pareklisia. After the petrol station, take the right hand turn towards Pyrgos. Drive into the village of Pyrgos until you reach the community park on your left. Once you pass the park, take the first turning on your right (before the bakery). Follow the road around and turn left at the end of the road and then immediately right onto Vasilikon Street. Take the next left turn and my studio / house is located here, next to the green house. Οδηγήστε στον αυτοκινητόδρομο Α1 προς Λεμεσό. Βγείτε στην έξοδο (Αρ. 21) προς Πύργο/Παρεκκλησιά. Μετά το σταθμό βενζίνης στρίψτε στα δεξιά προς Πύργο. Οδηγήστε μέσα στο χωριό Πύργος μέχρι να φτάσετε στο κοινοτικό πάρκο στα αριστερά σας. Μετά το πάρκο στρίψτε στο πρώτο δεξιά (πριν το φούρνο). Ακολουθήστε τον δρόμο γύρω και στρίψτε αριστερά στο τέλος του δρόμου και μετά αμέσως δεξιά στην οδό Βασιλικών. Στρίψτε στο επόμενο αριστερά και το στούντιο/σπίτι μου είναι εκεί δίπλα από το θερμοκήπιο.

Anavargos

HADJICHARALAMBOUS, Fanula Fanula is a fashion designer who also paints icons in the traditional Byzantine method, using the correct wood, pigments and the egg tempera method. She also does woodcarving in the traditional way, using oak, Cyprus pine, walnut and olive amongst other kinds. HAGLEY, Fred This year Fred concentrates on his sculptural ceramics, which are all handmade without the help of a wheel. He also does mixed media abstract paintings with the emphasis on colour and light. HARTLEY, Linda Linda works in watercolour, which she started on retiring to Cyprus in 2005, and had lessons with Judith Constantinou in Tala. She enjoys working in a loose style, sometimes without the use of a preliminary pencil sketch, especially for birds, flowers and animals. She also likes painting figurative and life drawing studies.

HEATH, James James is a retired aviator, who paints in his spare time which he enjoys very much as a hobby. He says his ambition is to get better using all mediums as a way of expressing what he cares about through art.

HUNTRODS, Marie Marie is an artist working with many materials from pastel pencils, coloured pencils, to graphite pencils, acrylic paints and watercolours. She makes Mandala dot painted stones, Hamsa stones, Zentangle ink drawings, pet portraits, realism portraits. She also makes small rock families. MAKARIOU, Demetris In my hand-rendered work I mostly use water-based ink pens and my art is around Creative Design, specifically working with geometry and abstract expression. My influences come mostly from Wassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Frank Stella, Joan Miro.

Στη δουλειά μου αποδίδω εικόνες με το χέρι χρησιμοποιώντας κυρίως στυλό μελάνης, με βάση το νερό. Η τέχνη μου είναι κοντά στο δημιουργικό σχέδιο. Συγκεκριμένα δουλεύω με γεωμετρία και σε αφηρημένο. Έχω επηρεαστεί κυρίως από τους Wassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Frank Stella και Joan Miro.

Paphos Old Town

MANN, John John paints and creates on all different surfaces including canvas, Letymbou stone, palm leaves, wood and gourds. The palms he turns into animal heads, violin sculptures and masks. The gourds are wood burnt and carved with some being turned into electric lamps and others become vases and planters. He uses wood burning (pyrography) to create chopping boards. He works in oil, acrylic, alcohol inks, and much more.

Ο John ζωγραφίζει και δημιουργεί σε διάφορες επιφάνειες, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του καμβά, της πέτρας Λετίμβου, των φύλλων φοινικιάς, του ξύλου και της κολοκύθας. Kato Paphos

PENTALIOTI, Jackie Jackie is interested in producing realistic images of the human figure and fabrics. In her current work she explores our preoccupation with the image we portray to others and the masks we wear to hide our true selves.

Jackie also makes mosaics.

H Jackie ενδιαφέρεται να δημιουργεί ρεαλιστικές εικόνες της ανθρώπινης μορφής όπως και υφάσματα. Στην τωρινή της δουλειά διερευνά την έντονη ανησυχία των ανθρώπων σχετικά με την εικόνα την οποία παρουσιάζουν στους υπολοίπους αλλά και τις μάσκες τις οποίες φοράνε για να κρύψουν τους πραγματικούς τους εαυτούς. Peyia

PHILLIPS, Dawn Dawn loves to record images and ideas in her sketchbooks. Each page is important and she strives to make them look like works of art in themselves. A messy sketchbook page is not for her, as she would usually pattern and texture over errors!

She says: My mosaic work incorporates beautiful coloured pieces of stained glass and ceramic but also explores the rich diversity of patterns and designs in old crockery that is destined for landfill. The old china speaks to me of past lives and a vanishing social history. Τransforming it into a work of art is both compelling and challenging. Sometimes a lovely piece discovered at the charity or tip shop is all I need to be inspired to create.

H Dawn αγαπάει να καταγράφει εικόνες και ιδέες στα τετράδια ιχνογραφίας της. Κάθε σελίδα είναι σημαντική και προσπαθεί να τις κάνει να μοιάζουν με έργα τέχνης από μόνες τους. Μια ακατάστατη σελίδα δεν είναι κάτι που την εκφράζει, και συνήθως ζωγραφίζει και χρησιμοποιει υφές πάνω από τυχόν λάθη! Αυτή λέει: Τα ψηφιδωτά μου ενσωματώνουν όμορφα χρωματιστά κομμάτια από υαλογραφήματα και κεραμικά. Επίσης η τέχνη μου διερευνά την πλούσια ποικιλομορφία μοτίβων και σχεδίων σε παλιά πιατικά που προορίζονται για πέταγμα. Η παλιά πορσελάνη μου μιλάει για προηγούμενες ζωές και μια κοινωνική ιστορία που εξαφανίζεται, και η μετατροπή της σε έργο τέχνης είναι συνάμα συναρπαστική και απαιτητική. Αρκετά συχνά,ένα όμορφο κομμάτι που ανακαλύπτω σε ένα charity shop ή σε ένα tip shop (καταστήματα με μεταχειρισμένα είδη) είναι όλη η έμπνευση που χρειάζομαι για να δημιουργήσω. POSTGATE, Stephen Oliver Stephen does large multi-image canvases of Cyprus in professional acrylic. He also does life drawings in oil on paper, as well as pastel portraits.

Chlorakas

PRICE, Mo Mo works primarily with copper, silver, precious metal, clays, and driftwood producing sculptural pieces with a figurative form. With a degree in 3D design, jewellery and silversmithing, she enrolled on the Post Graduate in Fine Art at Cyprus College of Art (2014).

Her work takes inspiration from the Chalcolithic period, the Lady Lemba found at the round houses of Lemba in the 70’s, and the figurative metal pieces of the Great Wall of Lemba.

Η Mo δουλεύει κυρίως με χαλκό, ασήμι, πολύτιμες μεταλλικές άργιλου και ξύλα που έχουνβραχεί σε θάλασσα ή ποτάμι, παράγοντας γλυπτά σε σχήμα φιγούρα. Με πτυχίο σε σχέδιο 3D, σε κοσμηματοποιία και αργυροχοΐα έχει εγγραφεί στο μεταπτυχιακό των Καλών Τεχνών του Κυπριακού Κολλεγίου Τέχνης (2014). Η δουλειά της εμπνέεται από τη Χαλκολιθική περίοδο, την "Κυρά της Λέμπας" από τα στρογγυλά σπίτια της Λέμπας του '70, και στα φιγουρικά μεταλλικά κομμάτια του "Μεγάλου Τείχους " της Λέμπας.

Emba

SHERRATT, Patti Patti is an artist painting any subject in oils or pastels by preference. She has lived in Hong Kong and studied Chinese brush painting while there. She has painted on rice paper using both ink sticks and watercolours.

She has also lived in Kenya, painting the landscape and market scenes in oils.

Η Patti είναι μία καλλιτέχνης που ζωγραφίζει σε ελεύθερο είτε με λαδομπογιές είτε με παστέλ. Directions / Οδηγίες : Coming from the Coral Bay direction towards Paphos, take the road towards Kissonerga. Travel along the main village road to the very end, over all speed bumps.

Towards the village end, pass by Iordanus Supermaket on your left and then approach a bend in the road. Take the first road left on the bend, signposted Emba and 50 Km speed limit. Go straight down until you see signs to Wembley football. Turn left by this sign and pass a large orange container.

Finally, take the next turn right onto Agiou Lazarou, a cul-de-sac. See a small carpark on the left and park there. The studio is in my house, Villa Kyrenia, 4 Agiou Lazarou. It is the second house on the right from the top of the road.

Ερχόμενοι από τον Κόλπο των Κοραλλίων προς τη Πάφο, πάρτε το δρόμο προς την Κισσόνεργα. Οδηγήστε μέσα από τον κύριο δρόμο του χωριού, περνώντας πάνω από όλα τα κυρτώματα οδοστρώματος. Προς το τέλος του χωριού, περάστε το ‘Supermarket Ιορδάνους’ που θα βρίσκεται στα αριστερά σας και πλησιάστε το δρόμο που έχει μια μεγάλη στροφή. Πάρτε τη πρώτη αριστερή πάροδο του δρόμου αυτού με τη μεγάλη στροφή και η οποία έχει σηματοδότηση Έμπα, όριο ταχύτητας 50 χιλιόμετρα. Προχωρήστε ευθεία μέχρι να δείτε πινακίδες προς ‘Wembley football’. Μέτα από αυτή τη πινακίδα θα στρίψετε αριστερά περνώντας ένα μεγάλο πορτοκαλί κοντέινερ. Τέλος στρίψτε στην επόμενη δεξιά πάροδο του δρόμου που οδηγεί σε αδιέξοδο που είναι η οδός Αγίου Λαζάρου. Θα δείτε ένα μικρό παρκινγκ αυτοκινήτων στα αριστερά, όπου και θα παρκάρετε. Το στούντιο είναι στο σπίτι μου, Villa Κερύνεια, Αγίου Λάζαρου 4. Είναι το δεύτερο σπίτι στα δεξιά από την αρχή του δρόμου.

Kamares, Tala

SMITH, Barry Barry works in water colour and acrylic medium and paints in realistic and impressionism styles, depending on the subject. He uses a variety of tools such as palette knives, brushes, sponges and fingers to create memorable images of Cyprus. Ο Barry εργάζεται σε υδατογραφίες και ακρυλικά μέσα και ζωγραφίζει ρεαλιστικά και ιμπρεσιονιστικά στυλ, ανάλογα με το θέμα. Follow the road through the ravine and take the second turning to the right into Mary Leptos Street and continue up and over the hill, following the signs for the Kamares Club. Turn right out of the main road and come to a T-juntion with a telephone box on the left corner. Turn left and then first left into Sirinas Street. STEINBERG-MUND, Christine After an apprenticeship as a graphic designer, Christine studied illustration in Kassel, Cologne and Düsseldorf. She then moved to Egypt where she taught at the German School. She had several exhibitions at the Goethe Institute and after 7 years in Egypt, she moved to Tanzania where she lived for 14 years. She taught at the University of Dar-Es-Salaam and Njumba Ya Sanaa. (Read more on the website).

Μετά από μαθητεία ως γραφίστας η Christine σπούδασε εικονογράφηση στη Κάσελ, τη Κολονία και το Ντίσελντορφ. Έπειτα μετακόμισε στην Αίγυπτο όπου και δίδαξε σε ένα γερμανικό σχολείο. Έκανε πολλές εκθέσεις στο Goethe Institut και έπειτα από 7 χρόνια στη Αίγυπτο μετακόμισε στην Τανζανία όπου και έζησε εκεί για 14 χρόνια. THOMPSON, Mark Mark has done major studies in Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Combined Media, Research Thesis and minor studies in Printmaking, Photography, Multimedia, Foundry, Textiles, Ceramics.

He is an emerging British artist living in Cyprus.

He has travelled to the remote and climate challenged seas of the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Guinea and beyond whilst serving in the British Army and working in the Oil & Gas industry.

Ο Mark έχει λάβει σημαντικά μαθήματα στη ζωγραφική, εκτύπωση, γλυπτική, συνδυασμένα μέσα, ερευνητική εργασία και δευτερεύοντα μαθήματα στη φωτογραφία, multimedia, χυτήριο, υφάσματα, κεραμική. TIMM, Kiara Kiara works with watercolour and acrylics, creating paintings. She also transforms some of her paintings into prints for textiles, which then become scarves and bags. She also gives workshops on different art mediums and techniques. Η Kiara δουλεύει με νερομπογιά και ακρυλικό δημιουργώντας ζωγραφιές. Chlorakas

TONJA, Katja Katja enjoys abstract, portrait and figurative art.

She hates restrictions and has an occasional need to divert to landscapes, still life, etc. In her work, emotional engagement is hugely important. She loves vibrant colours and uses them freely to reflect the influence of Cyprus' long summers and sunny and warm climate.

She has participated in exhibitions in Cyprus, Dubai, Belgium and London.

Στη Katja αρέσει να ζωγραφίζει από τη φύση, ανθρωπομορφικές φιγούρες και αφηρημένο. Δεν της αρέσουν οι περιορισμοί και έχει περιστασιακή ανάγκη να επιστρέφει στο τοπίο, την νεκρή φύση, κλπ. Της αρέσουν τα ζωηρά χρώματα και τα χρησιμοποιεί ευρέως ώστε να αντικατοπτρίζουν την επιρροή των μεγάλων καλοκαιριών και του ζεστού γεμάτο φως κλίματος της Κύπρου. Éχει συμμετάσχει σε ομαδικές εκθέσεις στην Κύπρο, Ντουμπάι, Βέλγιο και Λονδίνο.

Limassol

VARNAVA, Sarri Elena Elena likes acrylics because it allows her to work quickly and with energy and she also uses mixed media. She loves experimenting in abstract paintings and then uses the techniques she discovers for more realistic paintings.

People are her favourite subject. For her, art is freedom and she enjoys painting without rules and restrictions, always experimenting with various materials and developing her own techniques. Στην Έλενα αρέσουν τα ακρυλικά επειδή της επιτρέπουν να δουλεύει γρήγορα και με ενέργεια, και επίσης να τα χρησιμοποιεί με ανάμεικτα υλικά. Ακόμη, της αρέσει να πειραματίζεται σε αφηρημένο σχέδιο και μετά να χρησιμοποιεί τις τεχνικές που ανακαλύπτει σε πιο ρεαλιστικές ζωγραφιές. Οι άνθρωποι είναι το αγαπημένο της θέμα. Για την Έλενα η τέχνη είναι ελευθερία, και απολαμβάνει να ζωγραφίζει χωρίς κανόνες και περιορισμούς, και πειραματίζεται με διάφορα υλικά ασταμάτητα αναπτύσσοντας δικές της τεχνικές.

Directions / Οδηγίες : From the Hospital roundabout, head up the road towards the District Post Office.

Almost opposite you will see the signpost for Anavargos towards the right. After the right turn, proceed around the bend and take the next road to the right which is a cul-de-sac. WHITELAW, Lindsey Lindsey does oil paintings, charcoals and watercolours of the out-of-the-way, overlooked and forgotten landscapes of Cyprus. Inspired by the threat to the bee population world-wide, she has recently been working on a series based on the Pikni forest beehives and the landscape which sustains them.

H Lindsey ζωγραφίζει ελαιογραφίες, με κάρβουνο και νερομπογιές, απόμερα, απόμακρα και ξεχασμένα τοπία της Κύπρου. Εμπνευσμένη από την απειλή για την εξαφάνιση της μέλισσας παγκοσμίως, τελευταία δουλεύει πάνω σε μια σειρά που βασίζεται σε κυψέλες που βρίσκονται στο δάσος της Πικνής αλλά και το τοπίο το οποίο τις συντηρεί.

Directions / Οδηγίες : From Coral Bay take the road to Peyia Village, and just before the sharp bend below the church continue straight up the hill leaving the church to your left. Continue up the winding road to the edge of the gorge. The road will bend to the left and straight after, turn left into Psaron street. This is a dead end road and Iomani is at the end. Από το Κόλπο των Κοραλλίων πάρτε το δρόμο προς το χωριό Πέγεια. Πριν την απότομη κλήση του δρόμου πιο κάτω από την εκκλησία συνεχίστε προς τα πάνω αφήνοντας την εκκλησία στα αριστερά σας. Συνεχίστε προς τα πάνω με τη διαδρομή προς στην άκρη του φαραγγιού. Ο δρόμος θα κλίνει προς τα αριστερά και αμέσως μετά στρίψτε στα αριστερά στην οδό Ψαρών. Είναι αδιέξοδο και το Iomani είναι στο τέλος του δρόμου.

WROE, Karen

Peyia

Karen is a self-taught artist, and regularly captures images in pen or pencil in her sketch book on her travels. These sketches are transformed into finished artwork either acrylic on canvas or glass mosaics.

Founder of the UK arts charity, Art with a Heart, she is also an accomplished artist working in acrylic and mosaics. Her work reflects the natural world in an expressionist manner. Her signature work is based on the four seasons.

This has proven to be very popular and is held in private international collections, including Moscow, Germany, Australia as well as the UK and Cyprus. Texture, form and colour are important to her and as such her work is tactile. Her style draws you into the work, encouraging you to ponder and evoke happy memories.

Having recently discovered laser cutting, she is exploring and developing this media in her own unique style. She is happy to take you through her sketch books, her portfolio or talk about her current work in progress. Η Karen είναι αυτοδίδακτη καλλιτέχνις, και τακτικά σχεδιάζει με πένα ή μολύβι στο βιβλίο της όταν ταξιδεύει. Αυτά τα σκίτσα μετατρέπονται στη συνέχεια σε τελειωμένα έργα τέχνης είτε με ακρυλικό σε καμβά ή γυάλινα ψηφιδωτά. Είναι ιδρυτής του Βρετανικού φιλανθρωπικού Ιδρύματος, Art with a Heart, και επίσης μια ολοκληρωμένη καλλιτέχνις που εργάζεται με ακρυλικό και ψηφιδωτά. Τα έργα της αντικατοπτρίζουν τον φυσικό κόσμο με εξπρεσιονιστικό τρόπο. Έχουν επίσης βάση τις τέσσερις εποχές. Αυτό έχει αποδειχθεί πολύ δημοφιλές και έργα της εκτίθενται σε ιδιωτικές διεθνείς συλλογές στη Μόσχα, Γερμανία, Αυστραλία καθώς και το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και την Κύπρο. Η υφή, η μορφή και το χρώμα είναι σημαντικά για την Karen και ως αποτέλεσμα τα έργα της είναι πολύ φιλικά στην αφή. Το ύφος της προσκαλεί τον θεατή να αναλογιστεί και του προκαλεί ευτυχισμένες αναμνήσεις. Έχοντας ανακαλύψει πρόσφατα την κοπή με λέιζερ, αναπτύσσει αυτό το μέσο δημιουργίας με το δικό της μοναδικό στυλ. Η Karen ευχαρίστως θα σας εξηγήσει το βιβλίο με τα σκίτσα της και το χαρτοφυλάκιο της ή να μιλήσει μαζί σας για το έργο πάνω στο οποίο τώρα εργάζεται.

Marina Empietzi Harris keeps a finger on the pulse of art happenings in the United Kingdom, researches venues, and has interviews with gallery owners, institutions and establishments. When opportunities to exhibit arise, she notifies the Cyprus Open Studios members who registered interest and then have the option to register for such events.

Open Galleries Abroad (OGA), the international division of Cyprus Open Studios, undertake the registration process, arrange the transportation between the two countries and keep participating members informed of all developments. This is an enormous opportunity to bring your work to the attention of collectors globally.
