Do you know what D.A.R.E is or what it teaches you? D.A.R.E is a program that teaches you how to stay safe and not do drugs and more. I learned about drugs and bullying, and how most drugs have consequences not doing drugs will keep you healthy and safe.
To start off, drugs are horrible to your body such a tobacco, alcohol and cigarettes. These drugs can effect your body and your health. Alcohol drinkers experience many body effects such as memory loss or slow reflexes.” In Lesson 2 There are 88,000 alcohol related deaths each year in the U.S.” Another thing I learned in dare was the 5 w’s of reporting bullying who was being bullied and what happened when did it happen were did it happen and lastly why did it happen. Bullying is rude and disrespectful and can hurt others feelings. It is important when bullying is happening or when you see bullying that you try to stop the bullying and report what you saw.
In addition, drugs have multiple consequences. To make the best choice in a situation. The best thing to do is to think about what will happen is the wrong choice is made. After that pick the best choice.“Lesson 4 Resistance strategies walking away I found a cigarette in my moms purse wanna smoke? Say no and walk away.” All situations have positive and negative consequences. An Example of a positive consequence you don't copy your friends homework and stay out of trouble. A negative consequence is different there for a example of one is you smoke and get in trouble.”Lesson 4 Situation 3 Natalie is with a group of friends who are smoking cigarettes. She is afraid someone that someone will see them and tell her parents that she was smoking. What are the positive consequences of your choice? You don't smoke and stay healthy.”
Furthermore, to stay healthy you would need to avoid doing drugs. To avoid doing drugs you will need to stay away from drugs. Not all drugs are bad though but most are really bad such as, tobacco and alcohol. You can avoid doing drugs by drinking lots of water. “Lesson 4 resistance strategies If you know a place were people often use drugs, stay away from those places.” How to stay safe there many things to do to stay safe but here are the best safety tips. Tip number one stay away from drugs drugs are harmful to the body. Another example if anyone ever ever offers you a drug always decline the offer nicely.
To close the curtain, D.A.R.E is a program that teaches you how to be safe. And it teaches you to stay away from drugs and consequences and how to stay healthy. Dare is an amazing program.

Do you know that many people participate in drugs? A drug is any substance other than food that affects your mind and body. D.A.R.E helps kids in younger grades such as 5th grade and up, learn about Drug Abuse Resistance Education. Today in this essay I will present my knowledge from my D.A.R.E sessions with Margate Elementary’s amazing police officer, “Officer Tony.” It also helps kids understand how to handle many situations such as peer pressure, Bystanding, and many other negative things around people. The D.A.R.E program has been around for many years and has been a lot of help for various type of people, and I believe that it can help me too.
First and foremost, drugs are extremely unhealthy for people, because drugs can cause certain deaths or comas. There are over 180,000 people that have died from drugs. These insignificant substances happen to attack the brain the most. Drugs invade the brain, which is the most important organ humans need to survive. Alcohol leads to many brain damage or mental disorders. Medicines are also drugs, but not the negative type of drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. Even though medicines are not negative drugs, it can be extremely dangerous to medicine with any type of alcohol or tobacco. Participating in drugs can cause adverse consequences. Additionally, I learned resistance and not to give in to peer pressure. In one of the lessons, I learned that peer pressure can be harmful to me and the people around me
Furthermore, smoking is also unhealthy for people, and it is also the main reason some people die. Smoking is treacherous because the gassy substance does not only affect the person that is smoking, but it harms other people who are inhaling the scent. People have discovered that there are more than 200 chemicals in cigarette smoke. Cigarettes contain nicotine-that causes addiction, because of the addiction, people that smoke a lot have experienced coma or often died. When people smoke, it hurts their lungs. At one point their lungs would get destroyed so badly that they would severely get lung cancer. Even though some people don’t smoke, they could end up getting lung cancer if they live with people that smoke or if their environment has a smoky aroma. This is called second-hand smoking, and it is just as dangerous as first-hand smoking, it might even be more dangerous.
Lastly, most teenagers get tempted to start drugs at a youthful age - (13-19) because of their friends. This sort of “friendly temptation” is called peer pressure. Peer pressure is hard to overcome, but at the end of the day saying no to participating in drugs is often helpful for you and others. Additionally, I learned resistance and not to give in to peer pressure. In one of the lessons, I learned that peer pressure can be harmful to me and the people around me. There are many facts about drugs that many people have not learned of yet, but I will make it easier for you to comprehend. Alcohol is illegal to anyone under the age of 21. Alcohol slows down the brain and the body. It is also illegal to sell tobacco to anyone under the age of 18.
To seal the deal, I have learned a lot of effective ways of how not to participate in drugs and how dangerous drugs can be if I do participate in them. I can also use everything I learned and help somebody or teach other people. I also learned how to solve many problems the right way without overreacting, getting in trouble or being the bad guy. My favorite part of all the D.A.R.E sessions is when our amazing school police, “Officer Tony” taught us about how to stop being a silent bystander and speak up in need. I also like it when he makes it more fun by showing us cool videos. I hope that this essay helped you understand how D.A.R.E is an amazing way to teach kids how to handle a situation or how they can do the right thing without losing a friend or getting in trouble because of a misunderstanding. Teens that participate in drugs, must often suffer through major consequences if they get caught.
