Mayor’s Event Welcome Details I’d like to welcome you all to this year’s Tour of East Gippsland. I’m sure returning competitors and officials will agree this is a special part of Victoria, which first-time participants are about to discover. There are almost 400 competitors this year, which is phenomenal. It is fantastic to see events growing year-on-year the way the Tour has. During the first Victorian Road Series event of the year you’ll take in great coastal vistas as well as some of Victoria’s most fertile farming country. Our shire has opportunities for all types of cyclists, from road cyclists such as yourselves to those wanting a leisurely spin down the Great Alpine Rail Trail to an adventure at the Nowa Nowa Mountain Bike Park. I’m sure by the end of this year’s Tour of East Gippsland you’ll understand why outdoor pursuits are such a part of East Gippsland life.
