Overhalfofthe117,000studentsintheCy-Fairdistrictarelabeledas“economically disadvantaged,”andalmost50%areconsideredatrisk.(Economicallydisadvantaged meansthatafamilyoffourmakeslessthan$45,000peryear.)Over50%ofthe91 schoolsinCFISDareconsideredTitle1schools.
In2011,agroupofpeopleconcernedaboutthechildrenintheCy-Faircommunity foundedCy-Hopetoserveasacatalysttobringneedsandsolutionstogether.They setagoaltobringhopetoeconomically,relationally,andspirituallyunderserved childrensotheywillgrowintoeducatedandproductivecitizens.Cy-Hope’svisionisto mobilizethecommunitytoadvancethegoalofmakinglifebetterforkidsinCy-Fair.
Cy-Hopebringshopetochildrenthroughmanydifferentprograms.Theseprograms providechildrenwithbasicneedssuchasfood,security,andencouragement. Underservedstudentscanparticipateinlifeexperiencessuchassummercamp, playingonabaseballteam,attendingbandcamp,enjoyingfieldtripsandother activities,orhavingthefundingtocompleteDualCredit,APcourses,orcertification testinginhighschool.

Thisquotebyourformerfirstladyremindsmeofourdedicatedvolunteers,donors, boardofdirectorsandstaff.Youractofgivingselflesslyhelpedmake2019abanneryearfor Cy-Hope.
Thankstoyou, 2,547students receivedfinancialassistancethroughourPOP programandhadtheopportunitytotakeDualCreditcoursesatLoneStarCollege,take AdvancePlacementtestsorobtainCTEcertificatesthroughCFISD.Youhelpfeedover 875 studentseachweekend,over 100students eachweekgethomeworkhelp,lifeskillsclasses, recreationandasafeplacetohavefunafterschoolatour5HopeCentersandMobileSTEM bus, 57studentswereabletoattendourBandCamp, 130students participatedinthe5th GradeChoralFestival, 130studentswereabletogotosummercamp, 283students learned toplaybaseballwithDierker’sChamps, 229studentsparticipateinAmbassadorsof Compassionat6CyFairISDschools.Ourcounselorsprovideguidanceforover 1,360 clients eachmonth.
Ourstaff’songoinggoalistokeepouroverheadlowwhilestrategicallygrowingour programs,andyoutrulyhelpmakethispossible!Ouradministrativecostsareonly8%ofour budget,everyotherdimegoesintoourprograms.Cy-Hopeisstrongerthaneverduetoour growingcommunitywhocomestogethertodonatetime,resources,andtalentinsupportof ourimportantmission.Thisyearaloneourvolunteersloggedover28,485hoursandour BoardofDirectorshascommittedtobechampionleaders,soeverystudentcanbecomea well-educatedandproductivecitizen.
