Provide opportunities for vulnerable children to overcome barriers to success; today’s kids become tomorrow’s leaders.
Bring hope to underserved children so they will grow up to be educated and productive citizens, making a lasting impact on the community. Bring needs and solutions together. Support and encourage students, teachers, and schools.
- To benefit the community and our donors.
- To collaborate with local businesses, because we are better when we work together.
- To show compassion for our counseling clients and underserved students.
- To connect our volunteers’ passions with the needs of the community.
- To celebrate students by providing fun life experiences.
“We appreciate the fresh start in a trailer we can play, learn, draw, paint, skip, read, laugh, think, and dream in. Thank you!"
~ Your friends at The Longhorn Hope Center
At Cy-Hope we are so proud of MaKenna Marshal and her recent commitment to Princeton! MaKenna is a former Devine Virtuosos band student and a POP recipient of our POP program to pay the cost of Dual Credit testing. MaKenna has committed to Princeton for Track and Field.
“A huge thank you to you, your staff, and all the people who have sponsored our students. You have all made our students' lives brighter and given our kiddos some things they may have never had. Thank you for blessing us with your time, effort, and generosity.”
2021 was an impactful year for Cy-Hope. We celebrated our 10-year anniversary and continued to grow despite the challenges of the last two years. In the 10 years since Cy-Hope was founded, we have grown from a $100,000 to a $4.6 million organization. The tremendous outpouring of support in 2020 enabled us to continue our work and build the foundation for exciting projects coming in 2022.
Cy-Hope extends heartfelt thanks to our donors, funders, volunteers, staff, and board. With the continued support of our donors and funders, we provided a new home for our oldest Hope Center and tripled our capacity to provide free and reduced-rate mental health services in 2021. We also reopened and safely operated most of our programs at near full capacity.
Wade Boggs once said: “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, and it sparks extraordinary results.” We believe this positivity can infuse each interaction with our students and community to amplify our impact. The positive attitudes of our donors, volunteers, staff, and board, along with hard work and determination, have brought extraordinary results this year. Together we continue to work to bring hope for a brighter future to so many students in our Cy-Fair community, and now in Waller County as we expand programs to serve students there.
Your support and encouragement are what gives us the ability to continue our mission of making life better for kids. Thank you for being part of our “chain reaction of positivity” in making a difference.
With great joy,
Lynda Dierker Executive Director | Cy-HopeCy-Fair ISD is the third largest school district in Texas and the 22nd largest school district in the country. Over half of the district’s 117,000 students qualify as economically disadvantaged, and over half of the 91 Cy-Fair ISD schools qualify as Title I schools.
In 2010, Dr. Godfrey Hubert gathered a group of community influencers concerned about the children in the Cy-Fair community. They birthed Cy-Hope to identify gaps in services and find solutions to address those needs. Cy-Hope was officially incorporated in 2011 with the goal to bring hope to economically, relationally, and spiritually underserved children, allowing them to grow into well-educated and productive citizens.
Many of our students struggle with hunger, mental health issues, and graduating high school. Their families cannot afford enriching experiences like organized sports, college prep classes, private music lessons, and summer camp. Cy-Hope’s programs help fill in these gaps and bring hope for a brighter future to students and their families.

"Betty and I came to The Hope Chest three years ago. We were accepted with kindness and friendships by the other volunteers. Our greatest joy working at The Hope Chest is the understanding of all the volunteers and staff that we are providing a great need for the children in the Cy-Fair School District."
Through AOC, Cy-Hope mentors at-risk middle and high-school youth over a 22-week period, lifting them up at a critical time in their lives and empowering them to make better choices and achieve success in their careers and personal lives. This creates a positive impact in how they relate with their peers and their families.
Since inception in 2014, AOC has provided mentoring for 1,747 middle and high-school students.
In 2021:
329 students served weekly
52 mentor coaches give 1 hour a week
4 high schools
1 middle school
"I love mentoring because it connects me to the larger Cy-Fair community It reminds me that I am part of a village helping shape the community I live in These students are awesome " -Andy Spell
In an effort to prevent childhood hunger and to provide each child the opportunity to succeed in school and life, this program provides food for economicallydisadvantaged school children each weekend. Each backpack provides a child with enough food to sustain a family of four through the weekend, when they don’t have access to school food. In 2011, the program started with two schools and 80 bags of food.
· Served 43 schools
· Enrolled 640 students
· The Backpack Barn volunteers put in over 1,110 volunteer hours, working in the barn and helping load the cars that deliver the food bags to schools.
· Volunteer drivers put in over 1,880 hours delivering the food bags to the schools.
· The Summer Feeding Program distributed 350 bags of food weekly.
· Many schools and organizations participated in collecting canned food and supplies for Cy-Hope.
