Harli Hubbard and Erin Tauscher each delivered 2-run home runs in a 13-2 victory for the Papermaker softball team Monday, at Mountain View High School. “It felt good to get the team pumped up,” Hubbard said. “Once somebody gets a hit, it’s like a chain reaction of hits,” Tauscher added. “It never stops.” Hubbard gained nine strikeouts on the mound in seven innings pitched. Sarah Nidick made a putout at first base and fired the ball across the diamond to Tauscher in time to get the runner advancing to third base. Camas foiled Skyview 5-3 Friday, in eight innings. Lena Richards and Mikaela Searight helped bring home the leading runs in the top of the eighth. Hubbard pitched four innings of relief to pick up the victory. Nidick drove in seven runs on a double and two triples to lead the Papermakers past Washougal 15-0 March 20. Hubbard allowed zero hits in three innings pitched before rain brought the game to a halt.
