INTRODUCTION

Ecology’s Spring Summer 2020/2021 collection evokes visions of sun-soaked days and luxurious garden feasts.

The palette is awash with natural, sun-kissed pigments, while a Middle Eastern influence adds richness with warm blues and greens. Shapes have a handcrafted feel, with organic edges and texture introduced through gentle ripples and soft dimples.

Simplicity is paramount, with a desire for fulfillment found in rural living and connection to community, and this flows through into pieces that represent the beauty of slow living and family retreats.

HIGHLIGHTS | THE DINNER BOWL™

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, THE DINNER BOWL™ IS A HYBRID OF A BOWL AND A DINNER PLATE. Wide enough to serve up traditional plated meals, but with raised sides that are perfect for pasta, soup or salad.

This all-rounder sits comfortably at the dinner table and just as naturally on your lap in front of the TV.

HIGHLIGHTS | SUSTAINABILITY

UNTIL NOW, FINDING LOW-IMPACT SOLUTIONS IN CERAMICS HAS BEEN A CHALLENGING ENDEAVOR, BUT THE SUSTAINABLY MINDED TEAM AT ECOLOGY CONTINUED THEIR SEARCH. Today, Ecology is pleased to introduce Replay, an innovation in tabletop production that delivers less wastage by upcycling production seconds.

While Replay is organic in shape, with a flat profile and coloured flecks, it’s what’s on the inside of this collection that is really impressive.

Reclaimed ceramic pieces are ground down to a fine powder and added to new clay materials to create the colours and flecks that make each piece unique.

You can see and feel the fine granules of ceramic and glazes, and these act as a reminder of the history woven into the finished product.

Traditionally, once ceramicware has been fired and glazed its recyclability has been limited, but with Replay, new possibilities are emerging.

This is the first substantial step on the road to discovering new techniques and processes. We hope you’ll join us as we continue our journey.
