Founded in 1914, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA has been the core of animal welfare in the area for over a century. We are proud of being one of the first shelters to reach No-Kill status in 2006 and the work we have since done to increase our lifesaving capabilities with your generous support. While 2020 brought its challenges, we'll always remember the incredible support this community showed for the animals in our care. You made it possible for us to place 3,758 pets into homes, the highest number of adoptions in the 107-year history of the organization. We also took in 4,557 animals, which is our highest intake rate since 2007. Your gifts were truly lifesaving in 2020, and we are not slowing down in 2021!
