Extra Extra! Read all about it! Journalism crushes Yearbook in dodgeball match of the century By Brandon Lui Sports Authority

In the sporting event of the century, the CVHS Journalism class defeated the high and mighty Yearbook class in a no-holdsbarred dodgeball grudge match. Even before the game Journalism was berated with insults when Yearbook representatives issued the challenge. When the gauntlet was a thrown down, Michael Chow read Yearbook’s challenge, then preceded to crumple up a CVHS holy writ, a copy of The Olympian. Minutes before the match, Yearbook furthered their insults with their uniforms. Stated, in gaudy, silver glitter, was their team name “Palladium Paper Shredders.” Senior Alexandra Gomes of the Journalism class responded to the T-shirt with “Do they realize that the yearbook is made of

paper too?” All of Yearbook’s insults meant very little when it came down to the dodging and the balls. Journalism lost the first match, but came back in the second. What really mattered was the third tie-breaker match. When it came down to the last few minutes of the match it was junior Nick Leonardo of the Journalism class and senior Micaela Castain from the Yearbook class. Leonardo went ballistic and started pitching fire. Castain tried to evade, but Leonardo nailed her and secured the victory for Journalism. Team Journalism had graciously offered to conclude the match with a tie when the score stood at 1-1, but the Yearbook declined. In the end, the Yearbookers play could not live up to their hype.
