AUGUST 2009

Message from the President we live in a visual world where creative expression is manifested in the simple things that surround us. The trained artist or designer thinks beyond the first rendition of an idea, testing the limits of their creative powers to respond to what is unseen by most of us, making it perceptible.

design, illustration, photography, fine arts, and interdisciplinary design studies. The liberal arts are a key component to a cva education. They are fully integrated throughout the curriculum and foster critical thinking in art and design. In the studio, students acquire the skills necessary to explore their ideas and execute their concepts. Through professional studies and internships they are prepared to enter the professional world of art and design. What sets a cva graduate apart from other emerging artists and designers is their strong work ethic, coupled with an unquenchable curiosity and skilled resourcefulness.

Save That Date! We believe that our students’ education is the passage into the future. With a cva education, our students are prepared to meet the challenges of a changing world. We are educating our students to be creative problem solvers with a toolbox of resources. cva alumni are community leaders, trendsetters, and entrepreneurs. They are setting the pace for change and innovation in art, design, and commerce. Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen, and thinking what nobody has thought. albert szent-gyorgi Hungarian Biochemist 1937 Nobel Prize for Medicine ann ledy President
