A Guide to Your Acne Treatment Journey

AviClear uses the power of laser technology to safely and effectively eliminate inflammatory acne at the source1-3
• Overproduction of skin oil, called sebum, is a leading cause of acne.2
• AviClear is a laser that uses a specific wavelength of light to target the production of oil by the skin without damaging surrounding skin.3-4
• After treatment, oil production is reduced, thereby clearing up your skin and helping to prevent future breakouts.1,3
• Most patients see lasting clearance after just three 30-minute treatments.1
You may experience mild redness or swelling directly after the treatment, which resolves between one hour up to several days after the treatment.1
90% of patients showed visible improvement at six months after the final treatment session.1
Important safety and risk information about AviClear is available by contacting Cutera at www.cutera.com/us-en/global-offices. Patients should to talk to their healthcare provider.

The AviClear handpiece will be placed against your skin. You may feel a snapping sensation followed by a cooling sensation with each pulse.
Your treatment will be complete after about 30 minutes, and then you can go about your day.
Acne can get worse before it gets better, and we understand that can be frustrating. We call that purging. Here’s why it happens:
• When successfully treating acne, there may be an associated purge, meaning the acne may temporarily worsen.5
• Acne purges typically consist of material trapped in the various layers of the skin that gets expelled as skin normally sloughs off.5
• Purging may occur after the first, second or third treatment.1
• Talk to your provider about ways you can prevent or manage flares.
*Purge effect means the percentage of patients who had temporary worsening of acne due to purging of the oil glands. Most flares happen within a few days of treatment and last a few weeks, but may last longer.
Apply broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30+. Reapply sunblock every 90 minutes if you have to be outside.
