If you asked any person what my passion was, they would tell you it was drawing. Although I really do love drawing, it will never be my passion. My passion is to create anything and everything. I love I.A. because not only do you get to think up any reasonable project, but also you then get craft it by yourself. To many, this may sound awful and hard, but for me looking at the outcome is worth every splinter and cut. Not only do I love I.A, but also knitting, painting, drafting, drawing and much more. When I make something, whether it is an object or a drawing, I feel a huge rush of accomplishment. One day, I dream of drafting and helping construct buildings for a living. If I was able to wake up everyday and make something new that would benefit

College Admissions Essay: My Passion Of Drawing
I have a passion for creating art, something that has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and continuing the development of my artistic ability is a large priority of mine. I also have an extreme love for knowledge. I adore discovering new and amazing information about things as seemingly simple as ants or mushrooms, and every time I learn something new, pieces of the world always end up being more complex and awe–inspiring than I'd ever taken the time to notice before. Suddenly everything becomes art, each individual organism carefully designed to thrive and fulfill a purpose, each blade of grass surprisingly sentient, every single grain of sand containing intricate objects I can't perceive with my own unaided senses. America is lagging behind in education, something that deeply saddens me, because knowledge, to me, is the key to having a successful society. For people to help themselves, they need to be informed and educated, so this contempt for learning that is so rampant in my generation is alarming. I don't think that students decide to dislike learning. I think that they gradually lose interest because of a lack of captivating lessons, a lack of opportunity to really see how beautiful the things they are being taught are. It seems to me that school stops being fun to most students once they transition from the visual, hands on learning of lower level grades to the lecture and reading based material of higher level grades. I see a deeper hunger for knowledge in younger children, who really engage with the material they're learning about, and I want to recreate that in students of all ages. I want to do this by combining my passion for art and my love of knowledge to create visual learning aids, like animated videos, that are designed to capture the attention of students with their beauty and show them how stunning and interesting the content within them

The art of photography has always surrounded my childhood, so it was not very long until I was lured into it. It was six years ago when I first took noticed my cousins' extraordinary photographs, which sparked my interest for photography. It was then I purchased my first DSLr camera, a Nikon D5100. Photography has made me more persistent about my passions and has taken me on new adventures. Twice a month, I would join my cousins' to take photographs at new locations. It did not matter if it was early in the morning or late at night, sunny or rainy, we would travel to places that were waiting to be seen by us and captured by our cameras. I have been able to visit countless of remarkable and astonishing sites throughout the country and across

Orange you glad I'm an orange? Oranges, according to various quizzes and charts, tend to be the most creative and artistic of the four personality types. When creativity comes to mind, I think of how much of an impact it has made one my life and my choices leading up to today. When I was little and we visited my Grandma Carol in the summers, my favorite thing to do with her was make art. She taught me about so many different media, such as: acrylics, oil pastels, and the ink press. Sometimes, I would bring my sketchbook from home and she would help me set up art shows around her house. Aside from basic two dimensional art, I have always been fascinated with the unique stories told through film. The way that a picture is painted through film is something that one cannot find in just any art form. Film is unique and fascinating, so I sought to find a way to unite the two worlds of film and the 2D art that I enjoy so much. My findings were that digital animation combined the artistic style that I love and the storytelling of film in a way that intrigued me beyond any other career I had researched. I found a use of my artistic abilities that is useful as a career in the future, all thanks to my curiosity and creativity. My personal journey of creativity has led me to find a career that I hope to love, and it has given me an outlet not many have that allows me to express myself in a unique way. Hard work and creativity have led me through life and hopefully will continue to as I grow

College Admissions Essay: Creativity And Art
It seems out of character for me to take an Art class. After hating the required course for all of elementary and middle school, I had finally gotten free of it in high school. I could at least partially focus more on my personal interests and strengths: Science and Math. If my sister hadn't persuaded me to stick with my art class this summer, I might still hate it. But she appealed to me personally, and convinced me that it was not only the best possible time to take a summer class, but also reminded me that it was free and I had nothing to lose by taking it and everything to gain for me and my education. I trusted her advice since I knew she was looking out for my best interests, and looking back, I'm glad I took her advice.
By all means and measures, my first year in college had been a rousing success so far; by March of 2017 I had one great semester under my belt and the current semester was coming along even better, because I had gotten to focus on the topics I loved. Now I'd gotten the opportunity to sign up for free summer classes. It was hard to believe how useful the opportunity was, since at this point I had given considerable thought and effort into planning my future schedules in order to graduate in 4 years without overloading myself with classes to finish on time. With these summer classes, my future schedules were looking much more leisurely, but I needed to take summer classes that counted towards my degree. Rhetoric was the consequential one, the

Since I was a young girl, I've loved to make things. I was often found doodling intricate patterns all over my notes, crafting collages out of magazine clippings, molding cities out of playdough, and making beautifully detailed cards out of paper. I would draw from life with an imaginative twist, as well as frequently sketch from my manikin. I was interested in many branches of the arts. I did theatre and dance for a number of years as well.
Although I had always been interested in the arts, school made me think it was unimportant so I pushed my interest aside and attempted other things. Yet, I dedicated myself whole heartedly to any opportunity to craft and find creativity in my assignments. I could spend hours on a small drawing assignment for English. I would lose myself in the enjoyment.
Last year, I was given a life changing opportunity to take free portrait drawing classes. To my surprise, I was actually quite good. My success in this class inspired me to sign up for more MCAD classes over the summer, specifically painting and comic book art. This sparked a fiery passion in me. I began to draw daily. It made me feel so good about myself to do art again. I felt I was doing what I am meant to do. I enjoy every aspect of making art. My Passion For Art Essay
Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. I want to broaden my understanding of design and the world that art is beyond my knowledge and experiences. Because my love for creating burns so bright and deep within me, I am determined to find a career path that will allow me to explore the world of design and art every day. A number of art forms are endless and this seems like a daunting task to find just one path that can express the enjoyment and involvement I want to have with art. Throughout my life I have been endlessly drawing, painting, sculpting and creating often times I feel almost cursed with such talent to create because the ability seems endless. I have taken a number of art classes exploring my passions as a High School Student and created many different types of works including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; etching, embossed, and screen printmaking; charcoal, graphite, and pastel drawings; Sculpting with ceramics and plaster as well as wheel pieces. I find that there is few mediums I have yet to experiment with. I have become accustomed to Acrylic paintings as I have recently started to create paintings and sell them to community members. I participated in a local art fair and it opened my eyes to what art

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order. This quote by John Burroughs describes my diversion, outdoors. The outdoors is a place to free myself of all of my stresses and step away from urban living. The activities that I am participating in do not matter, as long as it is a new experience. Whether it is volunteering, trying a new restaurant, or simply going to the park, I appreciate the open–air on a beautiful sunny day. At the FSU reservation I would be able to swim in Lake Bradford on the hot days or rock climbing on the wall available on the site to destress or just to enjoy or a short getaway. The Art of Drawing is a skill that I can continuously develop and perfect. The patience that my artwork teaches goes beyond the work itself. It demonstrates the importance of accepting my weaknesses and working towards bettering them. I am able to properly release the struggles I encounter and not be consumed because of my artwork. The Importance of Art
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.

Many people thought that African art was too abstract with no attempt to look real. On the other hand, an Italian artist named Bellini painted "Christ Blessing" which is another example of symbolic art. Some of the symbols Bellini uses are– Christ is wearing a purple robe, which is a symbol of grief. Scars on his hand indicated this took place after the crucifixion. Various motifs in the distant landscape allude to the resurrection. For instance, the bird on the barren branches of a tree represents death, a pair of rabbits signify regeneration, there are three robed figures that are Mary Magdalen, Mary, the mother of James and Mary Salome, who having visited the tomb of Christ hurry to tell the disciples of the empty tomb and the bell tower denotes that salvation is found through Christ's sacrifice. All of these things are in the painting for a reason, they record in detail about an event in history. Many cultures around the world express their ideas and beliefs in various works of art. In Africa the Nigerian Chokwe tribe held great respect for their dead ancestors. They would pray while carving an ancestral figure. One example of their work is in the figure "Chibinda" (The Hunter). This figure represents the culture hero Ilunga Katele, royal ancestor of the Chokwe people. Ilunga taught the art of hunting. This figure is wearing elaborate headgear, which is a sign of royal rank. Art for me was always more of an aesthetic thing rather than a historic thing. I never truly thought about the meaning in art. It was not until I took this class, art history, that I begin not only to critique a work of art but to appreciate a work of art. The Museum of Fine Arts Houston was a great experience and its many exhibits were beautiful and insightful. The amount of different cultures that were being exhibited in this museum was astonishing. I was able to relate many exhibits with what I have learned in class. I chose to critique three artworks that I found very interesting and beautiful. All of them are beautiful sculptures from similar backgrounds, that everyone should get to see at least once in their lifetime. The first artwork was a beautiful sarcophagus, the Sarcophagus of a Youth that is dated to be from the 5th–4th century B.C., created by the artist Phoenician. This sarcophagus was made for the burial of nobility. The sarcophagus was made from Parian marble with a form that was a blend of two cultures; the shape of an Egyptian sarcophagus with a classically carved Greek face. The Greek face has stoicism, meaning repression of emotion. The sarcophagus weighs more than two thousand pounds and is seven feet tall. The sarcophagus is in perfect condition for being for being from the 5th–4th century B.C.; it is one of the two Phoenician sarcophagi in the United States. Intellectual Diversity In Liberal Arts
Traditional Diversity
At UC–Berkeley, the course description for "Politics and Poetics" (Fall Course 2002) stated that "conservative thinkers are encouraged to seek other sections." (SAF 1). Though the instructor later apologized for the description, this is the sort of encouragement conservative–minded students are greeted with many times during their college experience. It is said that in class, students are taught that their country and Western culture in general is tainted by racism, sexism, and oppression (Stearn 2).
Outside class, students are forced into consciousness–raising exercises that heighten tensions and bolster radical pressure groups (Stearn 2). For example, at Brown University, an organized coalition of...show more content...
The hope for cultural improvement in problem areas, even on a global scale, lies primarily in the critical forums of our nation's classrooms, where young, motivated minds are preparing to jump into the world with both feet. Because academic success is measured not only by what is learned, but also by what is taught, it is imperative that all perspectives be provided (Fish 3). 'Intellectual diversity' is used to describe those differing perspectives. Once used to portray an educational tradition that celebrates and nurtures human freedom, it is now used to name exactly what is lacking in Liberal Arts programs today.
Further immersed in this controversy, the word liberal in liberal arts has been embraced by both ends of the political spectrum, and can scarcely be uttered without turning the conversation into a verbal duel between conservative reformists on one side, and liberal traditionalist on the other. However clear we present the term, the thrust and parry continues as the nation's leading academia and political activists attempt to separate liberal education from an education that indoctrinates students in the values of political liberalism (Horowitz, In Defense, 3).
For the sake of clarity, two distinct 'sides' prevail within our higher education system today. Although the terms "Republican" and "Democrat" (referred to herein in as liberal and conservative) may seem inappropriate in the context of academic pursuits, they serve an advantage here

Most people would agree that music and art programs in schools have a huge impact on students not only academically, but in just about every aspect of their lives. Studies have shown that students who are involved in music and art programs have an overall higher IQ and show signs of many other academic benefits. Participating in such programs also allow students the opportunity to express themselves artistically and show the world their perhaps otherwise hidden potential. We all know how fun it can be to show the world your unexpected abilities, and what better way to show those off than the place where we spend most of our day–to–day lives? Art education has been proven to help with "cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills" as well as "motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork" (Smith). Having the ability and patience to sit down and paint a masterpiece or work through a song on the piano requires high focus and dedication. Students willing to do this will in turn have stronger skills to focus and be dedicated in other subjects. The mixture of all these abilities gained from participation in art programs lead to higher test scores and overall better performance in school. Still, these are only a few of the assets provided by art education. Countless success stories can be found of people who have benefited from art programs in the way of character building. Art programs affect the characteristics of people differently, but always in a positive way. Singing in a choir can improve a student's social skills and allow him to experience participating in a team. Painting a fruit bowl can enhance one's perspective and help develop his style. Acting in a play can help to build and secure a person's self esteem and help him grow as an individual. Art can also benefit communities and societies. Charity concerts and public performances by schoolmusic and drama groups help add a sense of happiness and togetherness to the surrounding community as people gather for a common purpose. From the first moment I picked up a crayon, I knew what I wanted to do. I knew exactly what hobby I wanted to work on forever; it was so natural for me. Soon, my abstract scribbles and simple stick–men drawings grew into landscapes and complex faces. My creativity and skill level keeps growing and growing– but so does the stress and struggles that I face. This is how I came to be as an artist, with my accomplishments and my failures. What will I learn from the stress? Will I succumb to it, or keep partaking in the passion I've loved dearly ever since early childhood? It all started when I was around 3 years old. While the memory is rather foggy, I do indeed know ample about my early days as an artist. With my multi–colored crayons, I created scribbles of flowers, my favorite toys, and other things I adored as a child. I made rather complex crafts at a young age as well, Once, I created a paper doll with girly and colorful clothes that you could apply glue to and then put on the doll. Whenever I'm feeling stressed, I pick up a pen and begin to draw. It has a calming, soothing effect; it provides a release from the stress and tension of everyday life.
