Welcome to another season of smashing shows here at Curve.
After kicking off the year with our Made at Curve coproductions of KINKY BOOTS and MURIEL’S WEDDING, we're already preparing for our next chapter of homegrown shows. Our terrific Associate Director Cara Nolan returns with a thrilling new production of Edward Albee’s magnificent magnum opus WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? this Autumn in the Studio Theatre. This is a rare opportunity to experience Albee’s explosive masterpiece and we’re delighted to be welcoming the extraordinary Cathy Tyson (MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE, MY FAIR LADY most recently at Curve, alongside an impressive slate of screen credits) back to Curve as Martha. Cara and our casting director Ginny Schiller are busy bringing together a terrific cast to join Cathy and we look forward to seeing you for an evening of fun and games!
Before WOOLF, our Autumn shows launch with the return of Frantic Assembly, celebrating their 30th anniversary with a brand-new play LOST ATOMS. Telling the story of extraordinary, transformative love, this hilarious and devastating production has been created by SUCCESSION and KILLING EVE writer Anna Jordan, with Frantic’s trademark movement language created by Artistic Director and company co-founder, Scott Graham. With such an impressive production team, we are looking forward to this Curve co-production immensely.
At Christmas, our stage will be alive with THE SOUND OF MUSIC as we all come together to share this epic new production of this incredible Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. Following virtuosic performances last Christmas in MY FAIR LADY, we are thrilled Molly Lynch and David Seadon-Young are returning this festive season to lead the company as Maria and Captain von Trapp. David and Molly lead an exceptional cast and production team, promising more theatrical magic at Curve this Christmas.
Before we hit these shows – and let’s not wish away the glorious sunny days – we hope you'll join us this Summer for the UK premiere of INDIGO, a bold new musical exploring experiences of those living with Alzheimer’s, autism and synaesthesia. With music and lyrics by multi award-winning Composer and Lyricist Scott Evan Davis and book by Kait Kerrigan (THE GREAT GATSBY, West End). The company is led by Lisa Maxwell (familiar to audiences from her years on THE BILL and a hugely impressive and eclectic stage career), Olivier Award-winner Rebecca Trehearn, alongside Katie Cailean, who makes her debut in INDIGO. This is a beautiful original musical, which we are proud to nurture and develop here at Curve. Over the past few years, we have been proud to support a number of new
musicals here at Curve including RIDE, THE BOOK THIEF, CAKE, TOKYO ROSE and SUPERYOU, in addition to developing our own slate of new shows.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY haunts the Theatre over the Summer, promising kookiness and macabre humour by the handful! Last seen here in our Made at Curve productions of SISTER ACT, Alexandra Burke is back as the iconic matriarch Morticia, with legend Lesley Joseph as Grandma and the inspirational Clive Rowe as Uncle Fester. They’re joined by a knock-out cast including Ricardo Afonso as Gomez, Dickon Gough as Lurch, East Midland’s Jacob Fowler as Lucas, Lauren Jones as Wednesday, Kara Lane as Alice, Nicholas McLean as Pugsley and Dale Rapley as Mal. Don't miss your chance to see this spook-tacular musical comedy!
Staying Stateside, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Vinnie Coyle and a phenomenally talented group of actor-musicians ride into town on a sensational stagecoach, bringing the spirit and anarchy of the Wild West to LE1 with CALAMITY JANE.
Alongside our Made at Curve productions, we have an eclectic selection of touring shows and events, which we hope you will enjoy, including: Leicester favourite Matthew Bourne and his incredible New Adventures dancers make a triumphant return to Curve in THE MIDNIGHT BELL; the classic tale of THE THREE LITTLE PIGS is reimagined in Stiles & Drewe’s fresh, familyfriendly production, and the story of tech geniuses Bill Gates and Steve Jobs is rebooted in new musical comedy, NERDS. Our friends at Inspirate will also be bringing a beautiful programme of contemporary South Asian arts and culture to the city, with performances and workshops taking place at Curve and across the city as part of AN INDIAN SUMMER
Our continued thanks to our principal funder Arts Council England and our incredible sponsors and supporters (if you’d like to learn more about our bespoke sponsorship packages and all the ways you can support Curve, please do drop us a line at give@curvetheatre.co.uk). If it wasn't for this crucial investment in Curve, as well as the unwavering support from you, we simply wouldn't be here today.
We hope you find something in these pages for you to enjoy here at Curve and look forward to welcoming you soon.

Or is that only in hindsight? Perhaps it was just typical? Or toxic? Or doomed from the start? One thing’s for sure: It changed their lives. Two people plunge deep into their shared pasts and propel themselves into multiple imagined futures.
At times hilarious, at times devastating, LOST ATOMS explores how memory impacts the way we look at love, and asks what makes a truly “successful” relationship?

Feel alive at Curve this Christmas

SAT 22 NOV – SAT 17 JAN •
THEATRE
TIMELESS • JOYFUL • UNMISSABLE
Fill your hearts this Christmas with one of the greatest musicals of all time, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s glorious THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Following the five-star success of our 2024 festive spectacular MY FAIR LADY, Artistic Director Nikolai Foster brings his Made at Curve magic to this beloved musical classic.
Leading this year's cast after charming audiences and critics alike last Christmas will be Molly Lynch as Maria and David Seadon-Young as Captain von Trapp.
Maria, a free-spirited novice nun, is sent to look after the rowdy von Trapp children. Defying Captain von Trapp’s strict orders, Maria captures the children’s hearts using creativity and music to educate, inspire and bring order into their lives. Soon the entire family is under the spell of Maria’s unquenchable zest for life and even the Captain’s steely heart begins to soften, as they fall in love.
But when Captain von Trapp is commanded to report for duty in the German navy, their Austrian idyll is shattered, as they must flee the Nazis and embark on the most important and dangerous journey of their lives.
Marking the 60th anniversary of the film’s release, this heart-warming tale of family, romance and rebellion features a timeless score including DoRe-Mi, My Favorite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain and of course, its soaring title number, The Sound of Music. Book now for this enchanting Christmas treat for the whole family.

ACCESS PERFORMANCES ADDITIONAL
CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES (CAP)
At Captioned performances, the actors’ spoken words are shown as visible text via two display screens on stage, one on each side, similar to subtitles. The text scrolls at the same speed as the dialogue, making it easy to follow with the action on stage.
SIGNED PERFORMANCES IN BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE (BSL)
Our BSL Interpreted performances are presented with British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation. The interpreter will be positioned on either the left or right of the stage throughout the performance, and their position will be confirmed online once available.
AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES (AD)
During these performances, audio describers provide a live, verbal commentary on key visual aspects of the show for audience members who identify as Blind or sight impaired. The description is presented via a personal headset (available from the Box Office) and includes an audio introduction to the show before the performance starts.
DEMENTIA FRIENDLY PERFORMANCES (DF)
Dementia Friendly performances are tailored to meet the needs of people living with dementia. They include adaptations to the show, clearer visual markers and signage in the physical environment, and a relaxed attitude to movement and audience responses during the show.
RELAXED PERFORMANCES (RP)
Relaxed Performances are open to anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance environment. Audience members can interact with the performance in their own way and, while the theatre doors will close, guests can leave and re-enter the theatre at any time. We also make adaptations to the show, and reserve a quiet space for anyone needing some time out of the performance.

SERVICES
TOUCH TOURS (TT)
An accompaniment to Audio Described performances, Touch Tours are a tactile tour of the stage, set and costumes, giving audience members who are blind or sight impaired greater access to the performance. Tours usually take place 90 minutes (or earlier) prior to the start of an Audio Described performance.
INFRA-RED & INDUCTION LOOP HEARING SYSTEMS
Available in our Theatre and Studio Theatre. Please ask at the Box Office for a headset.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
Dog spaces are available upon request; please let us know during the booking process and a seat next to the aisle will be reserved for you. Alternatively, a member of staff can care for your dog during the performance. We can also provide drinking water.
WHEELCHAIR SPACES IN ALL OF OUR PERFORMANCE AREAS
All public areas are accessible to wheelchair users, including lift access to the Circle level. We have allocated wheelchair spaces for every performance, both in the Theatre and Studio Theatre. If you wish to transfer to a theatre seat we can store your wheelchair upon request.
