Terms These two terms, “printer paper” and “art paper” are used in this guide. The printer paper will be the paper with the Cupertino Alliance logo, and the words “Noted tour”. It will be the lighter paper of the two.

The art paper will have a drawing on it (the one shown on the right is not the one included) and will be the denser version of the two.

Additional papers that are sent by the delegates will not be mentioned here. If you are unsure, feel free to DM Jayden.

Before Welcome to the Noted project! This is a guide explaining the Noted project, how to participate, etc. The Noted project is a project like Diplomabear, but more feasible to micronationalists through decreased shipping costs, as well as allows delegates to put their mark through a drawing and/or a statement in two pieces of paper. The Noted project is named after how delegates in the Cupertino Alliance are overtly formal. The term “Noted” was often used in Parliament as an acknowledgement, alongside “I concur with the honourable delegate”. To participate in this project, please be a Cupertino Alliance member (due to security reasons). DM Jayden Lycon stating that you are interested in this program. Please also look through the terms of service in this program (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AwoSApdyj2ND wn7ESluHL2x3CYdXEi0XY3o5HpRZce8/edit?usp=shari ng). Your participation will mean your acknowledgement and agreement to be bound by these terms. Please also DM Jayden Lycon your address. This will not be shared and will be disposed of once we do not need it. Also, inform Jayden if you are planning to pick up at a PO box or post office.

6

Receiving, opening, and writing Ensure that your post box is water-protected and safe enough for the post-service to mail it.

Open your letter carefully, through the seal. Recycle the envelope.

Please do not take too much space in your writing. Please add a signature to your message. No offensive material/slurs/swear words/personal information can be put on the message. Please DM Jayden Lycon what you plan to put in your message/sketch for approval.

7

Receiving, opening, and writing

Do not erase any delegate’s messages or drawing(s). Do not take out any delegate’s stickers / etc unless approval from the delegate.

Examples of approved messages: -”Noted” -”Garfield meme” Examples of not allowed messages: -”Robin is a [slur]” -”Anyone who practises [religion] is a [slur]” When you’re done, DM Jayden Lycon a completed photo of your printer paper and art paper, through a phone/camera and printer scanned if possible. Sending Inform Jayden that you are finished. Jayden will then send you the address of the next destination and a document, which contains a finished envelope template (one with a return address and one without) with all the Cupertino branding. Feel free to print out the template one or just write your own. Ensure it fits this template below: CA branding (optional) Return address (optional) Name of receiver (USE LEGAL NAME IF PICK UP AT POST OFFICE)

Full street address

Macro-city, state / province / territory, postal code / ZIP code, macronation

Always make sure that the return address is to the topleft and smaller than the receiver address. Ensure that both the sketch, printer paper, and anything that you wish to send to the next delegate is included. Also, ensure that the name of the receiver matches their ID if they are picking up at a post office which requires ID.

9

Sending You can also add in a plastic wrapper around the contents to ensure protection against ripping and water, but this is optional. Also, feel free to add any stuff you wish to send to the next delegate. Ensure that your stuff can be allowed to send to that country and that you have paid / you do not have to pay any duties or taxes. Please do not add any edible goods.

Put the printer paper on top of the art paper. Fold it 3-4 times ensuring it fits in the envelope.

10

Sending If you have the plastic, put the papers in the plastic enclosure.

Add the papers to the envelope. Due to coronavirus concerns, it is advised that you use an envelope in which you do not seal it with your spit. Seal, then add your stamps. You can find the exact amount at your nearest post office. Then, drop it off in the mailbox.

You can use any reliable shipping service/speed as you wish. You will be responsible to pay any expenses.

11

United States Postal Service advisories The following may affect your postal service, but usually, only affect USPS users. Ensure that you use the free Priority Mail envelopes for Priority Mail only, not for First Class. The same can be said for Priority Mail Express. USPS can, and usually will • Return the letter to you at no refund • Will ask for additional postage from the receiver. If this happens, it is good etiquette to pay for the postage that the receiver had to pay. If you are shipping via First Class, ensure that you use the white envelopes that you usually buy from the dollar store. Do not ship as media mail. Though I do not know why you will as it would usually cost more than letter mail, but don’t. As this may not constitute media mail, USPS can do the points mentioned in the above paragraph. Ensure that you have correct postage. You can always check at the nearest post office to be sure. Some of these restrictions/tips may be translated for your postal service. Check with the postal service through the nearest post office or website just to be safe. The Cupertino Alliance will not be responsible for any additional postage, expenses, etc.

12

After When you have shipped your mail, DM Jayden, as well as the receiver (If you don’t know, simply ask Jayden). The agreement for this program mandates you to dispose of any data once you have finished. As you have shipped the letter and is now in the hands of the postal service, you do not require this data anymore. Please do the following: • Ensure that all information of any delegate is deleted from your computer, notes, etc • Ensure that any papers that have personal information from any delegate are disposed • Do not leak or disclose any personal information Any violation of these terms will result in action by the Cupertino Alliance. Thank you for participating in this program and have fun!
