TA LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Peter Cowles
his year, Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital of the Philippines (Tebow CURE) has extended our services to more areas of the country than ever before. More than half of the children we treat now come from areas over 100 kilometers away from the hospital. Transportation for these families is most often provided by local government units that have signed memorandums of agreement to identify and transport families to the hospital. In the last year, we have signed more than 60 such agreements.
Housing partners also play a large role, as longdistance families often need a place to stay while their child is being treated at Tebow CURE. Each month, about 40 families receive accommodations through our generous housing partners or our Smile Train partnership.
I am incredibly proud of our team, which works hard to remove financial, transportation, housing, documentation, and other barriers so we can treat more children who otherwise would have great difficulty finding surgical care. We rely on comprehensive strategies to provide initial and ongoing world-class clinical care for the precious children who come through our doors every day, particularly our cleft and orthopedic patients.
This has been a year of significant milestones, as we have had the 60,000th visit to our clinics and have performed over 10,000 life-transforming surgical procedures since opening our doors nine years ago. This year, for the first time, we passed the 2,000 mark for surgical procedures, finishing the year at 2,190. This is possible by the grace of God through the challenging daily work of our surgeons, physicians, nurses, and support staff.
Of course, we could not do any of this without our generous, faithful donors and sponsors who are on this journey with us. Thank you for your support and confidence, which enables us to help kids heal!

Salamat,

COMPASSIONATE COLLABORATION:
Tebow CURE and Malaybalay Join Forces for the Underserved
In January 2024, Tebow CURE initiated community orientations across 46 barangays of Malaybalay, introducing sponsored services for children aged 0-18 with treatable disabilities. This marked a significant step toward addressing the issue of access to life-transforming surgical care in the area.
On February 1, Tebow CURE and the city government formalized their partnership with a memorandum of agreement (MOA).
Malaybalay, the capital of Bukidnon, is home to 190,712 residents. While many live in the city proper, numerous children with disabilities residing in underserved and less accessible areas have trouble obtaining essential healthcare services.
The MOA encompasses collaboration with Malaybalay’s city government in patient identification and transportation support throughout the pre-surgery, surgery, and post-operative evaluation phases at Tebow CURE.
“We thank the mayor’s office for being supportive. . . . The transportation is covered by the local government, and comprehensive care is sponsored by Tebow CURE. We need partnerships like this to help us do our job,” emphasized Peter Cowles, Tebow CURE’s Executive Director.

“This kind of program is only in first-world countries, and it is now made available for the constituents in Malaybalay. Trust in Tebow CURE and the city government. We will do everything to help,” said Mayor Warren Pabillaran.
As of June 2024, more than 200 patients from Malaybalay have received care at Tebow CURE, and over 60 MOAs have been made with local and provincial governments.
TEBOW CURE CELEBRATES 10,000 SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Since our inception in 2014, Tebow CURE has been committed to providing comprehensive surgical care to children with life-limiting but treatable disabilities due to congenital conditions and traumatic injuries. In May 2024, the hospital reached a significant milestone: 10,000 surgical procedures performed since inception!
Steve Perry, founder of the Sacred Harvest Foundation, a founding partner organization of Tebow CURE, sees the hospital as the pinnacle of the foundation’s efforts to bring God’s Shalom (peace and wholeness) to the people of Mindanao. “To know there have been 10,000 touches where the
power of Christ’s genuine love and care has been demonstrated has been our dream. . . . Ten years later, the work continues!”
Of the 10,000 procedures, 51 percent have focused on orthopedic surgeries, 43 percent on plastics and reconstructive surgeries, and 6 percent on general surgeries.
A young boy with bowed legs named Tomoki was the recipient of the hospital’s 10,000th procedure.
TOMOKI’S HEALING JOURNEY
Raised in Japan, Tomoki experienced a cultural shift when his family moved to the northern part of the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Travel restrictions prevented their return to Japan, and the situation worsened when Tomoki’s father passed away, forcing the family to stay in the country permanently.
Tomoki struggled with the country’s language and was bullied in school because of his legs, often returning home in tears.
Desperate to help, Tomoki’s mom, Irene, found Tebow CURE online
and saved up to bring him to the hospital. In April 2023, he underwent surgery on one leg, and in May 2024, he had surgery on his other leg—the 10,000th procedure in Tebow CURE’s history.
“I am very thankful to the Lord for the chance for my child to undergo life-changing surgery,” Irene shared.
“I prayed for this, and I have been wishing for a long time to find a hospital that can help with my child’s case. I felt God’s love for us. I am blessed not only because of Tomoki’s healing but especially because of how the staff cared for us.”
HELPING MORE KIDS IN NEED
With three operating rooms functioning at full capacity, the hospital performs an average of 35 to 40 surgeries per week. This high volume is made possible by the dedicated efforts of the hospital’s skilled surgical teams, including four plastic and reconstructive surgeons, three orthopedic surgeons, and two general surgeons.
Like Tomoki, many of the children Tebow CURE serves come from underserved regions where access to healthcare is limited.
Tomoki’s mother, Irene, watches over him before surgery.
We strive to ensure that no child is denied access to life-changing surgical interventions due to financial constraints or lack of resources—a mission made possible by our faithful supporters.
During Tebow CURE’s ninthanniversary celebration in May, Senator Bong Go, Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, acknowledged the hospital’s crucial role in

providing children with accessible and comprehensive care. “You tackle cases many other hospitals might not. This dedication to healing the hardest cases, all without passing the cost to families, sets you apart and lifts the spirits of those who might otherwise lose hope,” he said.
The generous support of our donors and partners has enabled children like Tomoki to receive the care they need,
allowing families to witness God’s healing hand in their lives. Through your continued partnership, we are bringing hope and transformation to countless families and fulfilling God’s calling to serve and heal His children.

BRINGING HEALING TO THE LEAST, THE LOST, AND THE LAST
Rizamol’s Story
Since Rizamol was little, she has faced many challenges. She was born with clubfoot, a condition where both her feet turned inward and downward. Two of her brothers, Pedring and Crisano, were also born with the condition.
Walking was difficult, and Rizamol’s father had to carry her to school. She felt ashamed of her condition and was bullied, so she eventually dropped out.
“At the age of seven, Rizamol was still in preschool but dropped out because, aside from the fact that the school is far from where we live, she also had trouble walking and felt ashamed of her condition,” her mother, Lydia, recalls.
DESTINED FOR HEALING
Lydia and her husband, Ferdinand, are corn farmers who work hard to support their nine kids. They did what they could to help Rizamol’s clubfoot condition, including diligently massaging her feet every day when she was a baby in hopes of correcting the issue. Their attempts were unsuccessful.
Due to their remote location and limited financial means, the family faced significant challenges in accessing the
medical care necessary to correct Rizamol’s clubfoot. They lived an hour from the nearest medical facility amid challenging mountainous terrain with scarce transportation options.
In 2022, God led the family to Tebow CURE through a patient screening in their area. That screening marked the beginning of Rizamol’s transformative journey. With help from their local government unit, Rizamol and her siblings were identified to receive surgery at CURE at no cost to their family—thanks to the generous support of CURE’s donors!
At Tebow CURE, Rizamol underwent two life-changing surgeries and received the treatment she needed to straighten her feet. Despite the challenges of traveling long distances
Rizamol was born with bilateral clubfoot.
to the hospital and enduring rigorous therapy sessions, Rizamol remained steadfast in her pursuit of healing.
STEPPING INTO A NEW LIFE AND A NEW IDENTITY
After two years of treatment, Rizamol can now walk confidently, no longer hindered by her previous physical limitations. Pedring and Crisano also had their clubfoot corrected at Tebow CURE.
Rizamol and Crisano have resumed their education and are now classmates in second grade, while Pedring is getting ready to enroll in the Alternative Learning System—an option for older children to continue their studies.
Claire, Rizamol’s teacher, shares the changes she’s seen in Rizamol since having her life-changing surgery. “She had difficulty moving around, couldn’t participate in activities, felt self-conscious, and was bullied. Now, by God’s grace, her feet are okay. She can move around, engage, walk, and run. She wants to participate in classroom activities and socialize with her classmates, and I see she’s happy.”
At Tebow CURE, we follow Jesus’s example of reaching out to the least, the lost, and the last. We strive to serve those families and patients living in the remote parts of the Philippines who have no access to essential medical care, ensuring that no child is left behind.
