This activity will familiarise students with the different user groups listed in the specification, which are all included in the spider diagram. In pairs, students discuss the question, then link themselves/their family members to the different user groups. Support: In pairs, students discuss which of these user groups they belong to. They could also be given the names of some sports stars (male and female, from different ethnic and economic backgrounds, and of different ages) to place in different user groups. Challenge: Can students think of any other user groups? They could also start to consider the implications of belonging to more than one user group.
