HOW OUR CLASSES WORK CERTIFICATES OF ACHIEVEMENT

Our classes are thoughtfully structured to meet students where they are in their artistic journey. We offer programs tailored by age group, artistic genre, and skill level, ensuring that everyone can find a class suited to their interests and abilities. From foundational courses for beginners to advanced workshops for more experienced artists, our progressive learning model helps students grow through three levels (A, B, C). Each class provides a blend of hands-on practice, creative exploration, and personalized guidance to foster both technical skills and artistic expression.

Art Inspires Community

At Cultivate, we honor the growth and accomplishments of our students through Certificates of Achievement. For our K-12 programs, students receive a certificate at the completion of each class, celebrating their progress and creativity. For adult learners, we offer a comprehensive certificate program that acknowledges the mastery of different artistic mediums. These certificates are not only a reflection of skill development but also a recognition of the dedication and exploration each student brings to their artistic journey.

Preschool Programs (Ages 3-6)

THE PROGRAM

Through engaging storytimes, handson art projects, and creative exploration, our classes introduce young children to the foundational principles of art and design, such as color, shape, line, texture, and form.

Each program, whether it’s a caregiver-child experience or a childonly session, is crafted to nurture curiosity, develop fine and gross motor skills, and foster social-emotional growth.

Our goal is to provide a joyful and supportive environment where children can express themselves creatively and build essential skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.

PRESCHOOL AND FAMILY ART PROGRAM

Acorn Explorers (Ages 3-4)

In Acorn Explorers, children engage in play-based art activities that promote curiosity and creativity Each session begins with a storytime that introduces artistic concepts, followed by hands-on projects such as painting, drawing, and collage-making This class emphasizes fine motor skill development and encourages social skills like communication and sharing in a joyful, supportive environment

Budding Artists (Ages 5-6)

Budding Artists provides a balance of play and structured learning for children ages 5-6 With a storytime introducing an artist or artistic concept, children then participate in sensory-rich projects such as painting, beginner printmaking, and sculpture These activities foster both motor skills and social-emotional learning, preparing children for academic readiness and collaboration.

Nest & Nurture (Ages 3-6 with Caregivers)

Nest & Nurture invites children and caregivers to create together in a nature-inspired environment Through storytimes and hands-on art projects, families explore the fundamentals of art and design while building communication, empathy, and teamwork This collaborative class nurtures both creative expression and deep family connections

Each class is an exploration of art inspired by a different artist or creative idea. Dynamic Monthly Themes: No two classes are the same Children explore a wide range of artists and styles, from abstract art to nature-inspired works, making each class a fresh and exciting adventure

At Cultivate, our programs are designed to guide students through a clear, structured path of artistic growth. We offer progressive levels A, B, and C in each of our core media: drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber and textile arts, sculpture, and comics. This approach allows students to develop skills within a specific medium while fostering their creativity at a pace that suits their needs.

Level A: Foundational Techniques

Each medium whether it’s drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber and textile arts, sculpture, or comics begins with Level A. Students are introduced to essential techniques and tools, focusing on building foundational skills, experimenting with materials, and becoming comfortable with the creative process. This stage sets the groundwork for future artistic exploration.

Level B: Intermediate Exploration

I Level B, students expand on the skills learned in Level A This termediate level introduces more advanced techniques and rocesses, encouraging students to develop their personal style nd refine their creative abilities. ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Cultivate's Teen Education Program offers a comprehensive curriculum that encourages critical thinking, technical skill development, and personal expression.

Aimed at teenagers from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, the program provides a foundation in various artistic disciplines and introduces contemporary practices that challenge conventional boundaries. Each course is crafted to develop artistic abilities and cultivate an appreciation of the arts as a vital means of communication and reflection.

JOIN US MONDAY NIGHTS FOR TEEN OPEN STUDIO

We invite all teens for an open studio session! Work on projects from class or explore new materials, all with the guidance of one of our instructors.

This is a great opportunity to get creative, try something new, and receive support from our experienced team.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM

Cultivate’s Counselor in Training (CIT) program offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to develop leadership, teaching, and mentorship skills in an art education environment during our summer camps. This program is perfect for teens passionate about art and interested in working with younger students.

As a CIT, participants will assist instructors in our elementary art camps, help with class setup and cleanup, and support younger students with their projects. In return for their support, CITs will receive one free teen class for every elementary camp they assist with This is a valuable chance to build communication, leadership, and collaboration skills while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
