Cullen Elementary is an amazing school with great students and wonderful staff. To start off the year we had our Halloween Glow Dance and the very opening of the school. Aside from all that I’m excited to say 2025 is finally here! I’m so excited to do so many things in our school in 2025!

SPELLING BEE!
On Friday January 27th we had our school spelling bee. It was Cullen’ s first ever bee! (I was in it, not to brag.) Me and the other contestants were so nervous, but we all tried our best. I was feeling excited for me, and everyone else!

NEW TURF!
During the January 25th weekend, we received new turf on the playground. This is exciting because we previously had rocks. Our students are loving the new greenery! Some students were spotted making grass angels, rolling around, and doing cartwheels. A BIG thank you to our school board member, Mr. Severance.

HELP SAVE CALIFORNIA!!!
CALIFORNIA NEEDS OUR HELP! Gusty winds combined with persistently dry weather conditions are increasing extreme fire threats in the L.A region. Here are some reasons why you should help California. Number 1: If you lived in L.A right now, your house might be burning right now. Number 2: How would you feel if you had to evacuate and when you come back home your house is gone? You would feel very sad, wouldn’t you Number 3: There are thousands of people losing their lives. We should care for them like they are our family. Everyone on this Earth is like our family and we don’t want them to die.

From Beijing to Havana, the holiday known as the Spring Festival in China, Tet in Vietnam and Seollal in Korea is a major festival celebrated in many countries. Wednesday marked the start of the Year of the Snake, one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac.
The Lunar New Year is a time to wish for good luck and prosperity in the coming year for oneself and others.
The Chiefs and Eagles will face off in the 59th Super Bowl on February 9th in New Orleans. Who will you be cheering for? We hope the commercials are good.
