PPR Trip to RAF Lakenheath On Wednesday, PPR had a wonderful trip to RAF Lakenheath, courtesy of Caleb Paterson’s parents. We met several birds of prey that are used for bird scaring, including a 27 year old owl called Twinkle and a 7 month old bald eagle. Whilst meeting the birds we watched many jets and a helicopter take off. The children were shown the equipment that pilots must wear when flying and they were able to try on helmets and life vests, and look through night vision goggles. The highpoint of the day, for both children and teachers, was being allowed to sit in the cockpit of an F15 fighter jet alongside the pilots. It was an incredible and unique experience for us all.
