Different types of crimp terminals

Different Types of Crimp Terminals Crimp terminals are often used when making solder-less connections or crimping connections. They help crimped connections become gas-tight. Crimp terminals come in many different sizes so that there will be a terminal for whatever wire you are trying to crimp. These terminals also come in different types.

Ring Terminals These types are called “ring terminals because they have ring-shapedtongue sticking out. This type is also considered as reliable when it comes to creating effective and secure connections. Barrel Type Terminals There are two types of barrel terminals and that is the closed barrel and open barrel terminals. These types also provide a more secure crimp connection. Barrel-types also provide a cleaner look because the crimpedarea is not exposed. Nylon Insulated Terminals This provides a more flexible connection and doesnot easily break. The translucent appearance also makes it easy for you to check on the crimp. While this is crack-prone, this is not corrosion prone even with its high cost. Vinyl Insulated Terminals This is the cheapest type of insulated terminal and the widely-used type. It is just not translucentenough to check on the crimped area. Like nylon, they can also be prone to corrosion and wirespulling out. Non-Insulated Terminals
