Notice Inviting Applications: FY 2023 Perkins Innovation and Modernization Grant Program for Career-Connected High Schools

On behalf of the U. S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE), I am pleased to announce the posting this morning of a notice inviting applications (NIA) for new awards for fiscal year (FY) 2023 for the Perkins Innovation and Modernization (PIM) Grant Program for Career-Connected High Schools. Through this competition, the Department seeks to award just over $24 million in grant funds for projects that will build capacity among secondary education, postsecondary education, and workforce development systems to expand access to career-connected high school programs for more students. As described in the NIA, career-connected high schools are those that offer systematic postsecondary counseling and career advising, dual or concurrent enrollment, work-based learning, and programs that offer opportunities to earn an industryrecognized credential.

The link to the Federal Register Notice is available here. Applications for FY 2023 PIM grant funds must be submitted through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov) no later than October 13, 2023.

CYBER.ORG Back-to-School Technology Grant Application (AY23-24)

Welcome to the CYBER.ORG Back-to-School Technology Grant Application! This application will collect details from you to process your request for a technology grant from CYBER.ORG. Required questions are marked with an asterisk (*).

To be eligible, you must: be a K-12 educator, be employed by a school/school district based in the U.S. or a U.S. territory, AND submit a complete application by the deadline of 11:59 PM Pacific Time, August 20, 2023.

NOTE: This form will accept your application information and technology grant request, but final eligibility will be determined later upon review by CYBER.ORG.

Eligible educators may submit a request for any technology product or service that will support them in teaching cybersecurity to their students. Past technology grants have included:

Micro:bit Club Kits [10 micro:bits/kit]

Cyber:bot Kits [1 robot/kit]

Chromebooks

External Monitors

If there are other technology products or services that will better support your instruction of cybersecurity in the classroom, you are free to request those as well (up to 3 non-standard items/services). We want to provide applicants with the technology that will have the greatest impact on students' learning outcomes and that makes the most sense for their unique educational context.

All applicants must provide a brief explanation of how the requested technology will be used to support K-12 cybersecurity education. Applicants are also required to provide the following:

valid contact information; basic information about the school where they are employed; the shipping address for the school where they are employed; and demographic information on the students who will benefit from the requested technology package (estimates are sufficient).
