MESSAGE FROM FOUNDATION CHAIR
Serving in my second year as board chair of the CSUMB Foundation, it has been a privilege to represent our community in this important role. The Foundation Board is comprised of a diverse and talented group of community leaders who are committed to helping this university grow and flourish and it has truly been a pleasure to serve with them in this capacity. CSUMB, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, has come a long way since emerging from a decommissioned army base in 1994. The campus now serves over 7,000 students per year while growing its total alumni to over 20,000. The campus’ story is unique, and as the university evolves its impact in the Monterey Bay communities and beyond is now undeniable. The university has become deeply interwoven in to the tapestry of our community, and we are all better for it. I want to commend all of the supporters in our community who have helped make this university and its growth possible. This annual report showcases three visionary community leaders who have invested transformative gifts that will usher in a new era for the campus. These gifts will increase educational access to underserved communities as well as provide necessary classroom and lab space to support world-class STEM instruction.
