Welcome

Dear NASA Region 2 Conference Attendees,

On behalf of California State University, Fullerton, and the entire conference committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 North American Saxophone Alliance Region 2 Conference. We are thrilled to host this gathering of musicians, educators, and saxophone enthusiasts for a weekend filled with inspiring performances, insightful presentations, and meaningful connections.

This conference is a celebration of the artistry, innovation, and community that make the saxophone world so special. Whether you are here to perform, present, learn, or simply enjoy the music, we hope this experience will be enriching, inspiring, and memorable.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Randall Goldberg, Dustin Barr, Gregory Whitmore, and all my colleagues at the CSUF School of Music for their unwavering support in hosting this event. A special thank you to Dean Arnold Holland of the College of the Arts for his encouragement and support of our musical endeavors. Additionally, this conference would not be possible without the appreciated efforts of Michael August, Chris Searight, Jeff Lewis, and their entire production staff, who have provided tremendous help and allowed us to take over the Clayes Performing Arts Center and the School of Music this weekend.

I am also incredibly grateful to the NASA Region 2 Conference Committee— Shawna Pennock, Nathan Mertens, Ashley Kelly, Christopher Charbonneau, Anibal Seminario, and Jeffrey Allardyce—for their hard work in making this event a reality. Your help and expertise have been instrumental in shaping this conference.

Lastly, a huge thank you to the CSUF Saxophone Studio for all your support leading up to and throughout the conference. From the small favors and advice to your dedication and hard work in pushing yourselves as musicians, you have all played a vital role in elevating the saxophone program at Fullerton. Your contributions made a bigger impact than you can imagine, and this conference wouldn’t have been possible without you. As we come together over the next few days, I encourage you to take full advantage of the many opportunities available—engage with fellow musicians, explore new ideas, and, most importantly, enjoy the music!

Welcome to the NASA Region 2 at CSUF, and have a fantastic conference!

Best,

Host, NASA Region 2 Conference
