The Future of Fashion: Fashion Show and Exhibition Mission Statement The Future of Fashion is an exhibition and fashion show highlighting designers and brands using sustainable methods of clothing production.

The environmental impact of the fashion industry has grown exponentially, especially with the rise in popularity of fast fashion brands. Globally, we produce 13 million tons of textile waste each year, most of which goes directly to landfill. Textile production is responsible for 20% of global waste water and 10% of global carbon emissions. The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world.

This event will showcase designers and brands who are working against this problem and striving to make fashion and textiles more sustainable. Examples of participants are designers who use 100% recycled materials for clothing and brands that use sustainable sourcing methods for raw materials and replenish resources as they use them. This event will give brands and designers a chance to sell their creations and will feature speakers on the topic. The event will conclude with a fashion show, showcasing the sustainable designs and demonstrating what is possible— and necessary— for the future of the fashion industry.
