50th SW Leadership hosts State of the Base

Champions of Freedom Concert HHHHH Schriever Air Force Base’s Information, Tickets and Travel office, located in Building 300, has a limited number of free tickets to the Armed Forces Day Champions of Freedom Concert held at the Pikes Peak Center for Performing Arts 7 p.m. May 14. The tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Please limit to four per person. This year the Colorado Springs Chorale will join the Academy Band’s Concert Band in a program that honors our nation, veterans and the men and women in uniform who currently serve her. The concert celebrates the United States enduring bond with Canada in defense of North America, and includes the traditional recognition of this year’s Pikes Peak Region’s Top Enlisted Performers.

THIS WEEK Schriever Choir: Orbital Harmony Auditions
The Schriever Air Force Base Choir performance group Orbital Harmony will conduct auditions to fill vacant spots for the Spring and Summer 2019 performance season. All positions are currently open (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). Any experience level is welcome. Auditions will be conducted by appointment in the Building 210 Chapel Office. Participation in the Schriever AFB Choir can be used toward qualification for a volunteer ribbon. For more details or to schedule an audition, contact Allen Neal Vickrey at 719-721-9280. SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — More than 50 Colorado Springs community leaders met with installation leaders at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado during the annual State of the Base, April 25. State of the Base provides Schriever leaders the opportunity to bolster partnerships with
Colorado Springs, El Paso County and state civic and community leaders. Col. Jennifer Grant, 50th Space Wing and installation commander; Col. Dean Sniegowski, 310th Space Wing commander and Army COL. Edward Anderson, National Space Defense Center deputy director, briefed community leaders on their respective mission areas. Grant introduced the newest members of
her staff and highlighted Team Schriever’s growing importance. “We have been self-identified, propagated and re-identified as the epicenter of space,” Grant said. “This has gained traction and taken root in this community, expanding to the greater Colorado Springs area.
