AROH Foundation, established under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 in 2001, is a leading nationallevel NGO strengthening Government efforts, CSR initiatives of CPSEs and corporates and welfare programmes of international donors and multilaterals, by providing total integrated solutions - consulting, planning and implementing - for sustainable, inclusive development and growth for the needy and marginalised communities in 16 states of India. The uniqueness of AROH Foundation lies in its understanding and approach towards social development, for creating successful models which seek sustainability, scalability, accountability, transparency, credibility and effective leadership. AROH’s governance structure has inbuilt audit and evaluation mechanism to ensure optimisation of resources for the highest social return on Investment. Our Approach

Anchored in our social context, AROH’s programs and projects have been designed to address the basic dimensions for human development – HEALTH, EDUCATION and INCOME, the dimensions which form the basis of Human Development Index (HDI), which are also central to our National Development Goals and form the backbone of the Millennium Development Goals. To provide effective assistance to the underprivileged, weak and poor people and communities, especially women, in rural and semi-rural areas and slums. AROH has adopted a multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral approach, by running programmes in the sectors of Education, Health, Livelihoods, Skill Development, Women’s Empowerment, Environment, Water and Soil Conservation, Renewable Energy Resources, etc.

Interventions

A registered trademark product of AROH, sponsored by GAIL India, aims to bring all out-of-school children into the fold of education. In the last five years the programme has covered more than 30,000 children in slums of Delhi/NCR and mainstreamed them into formal schools.

GARIMA

Empowering Women The programme is designed for socio-economic empowerment of women in rural areas and urban slums, through skill development in traditional crafts and trades. It has enhanced livelihood opportunities of the beneficiaries. GARIMA centres are being sponsored by various corporates and PSUs.

UDAAN

Developing Vocational Skills The programme aims to provide training to poor and marginalised youth in various market-driven skills so that they are able to compete for better jobs and fill the skills gap. UDAAN is sponsored by various corporates and PSUs like Power Grid, ONGC and Barclays.

Helping the nation to address the goal of POVERTY ALLEVIATION through multisectoral approach and specific programmes providing EDUCATION, SKILL DEVELOPMENT , VOCATIONAL TRAINING and SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS for the poor and marginalized sections of society.

Aajeevika

Sustainable Livelihoods GoI’s flagship rural development programme which aims to provide placement linked skill development to rural BPL youth in the age group of 18-35. AROH has successfully achieved the target to skill 7,000 in its first project.

Partners in Action We work in synergy with the government welfare schemes to bring a host of benefits provided by the government to the community level. AROH is registered under FCRA, which gives us the advantage of accepting foreign and multilateral funding for our community projects. We also draw on the strength of many responsible citizens and youth, who are keen to join hands and give us volunteer support for our programmes. We have a strong volunteer programme in place where we welcome all Indian and overseas volunteers and devise special interventions to utilise their expertise. We look for support from all concerned - Government bodies, Public Sector Undertaking, NGOs, Corporate houses and Civil societies.
