Mission

At the heart of our clinical mission is the education of graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology. After clinical mentoring by seasoned professionals in the field of communication sciences and disorders, these graduates go on to become leaders in the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology.

Graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology work closely with exceptional clinical educators to offer state-of-the-art, compassionate care for individuals with a wide range of communication and related disorders.

We offer a full range of speechlanguage pathology and audiology services under one roof.

We treat patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric.

We serve individuals from the local community, the State of Iowa and surrounding states.

Clinical Services Audiology • Hearing evaluations for children and adults • Auditory brainstem response testing • Otoacoustic emission testing • Hearing aid services • Cochlear Implant services

Clinical populations served Speech Language Pathology • Non verbal or minimally verbal clients who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) • Adults with neurogenic speech and language disorders • Aural Rehabilitation • Autism • Pediatric speech and language disorders • Stuttering • Swallowing disorders • Voice disorders

Special programs • Listen and Speak Up – collaboration between MASLP and AuD students to provide summer services for children with hearing loss • Project ImPACT – parent education program for families of kids with autism • Social Climbers – summer social skills groups for kids and teens • SPEAK OUT® and LOUD Crowd – speech therapy for adults with Parkinson’s Disease • UISpeaks – week long summer camp for kids and teens who stutter
