A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Friends and Families,
I am thrilled to welcome you to Season Finale 2024, hosted by the California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) Foundation! We are honored to have you join us as we recognize our incredible students and faculty for the hard work they have put into this year’s performances.
As many of you are aware, this is my last Season Finale as CSArts-SGV’s Principal. As I reflect back on my time in this role, I can’t help but feel moved by how far we have come.
This past year alone, our school has celebrated two exceptional accomplishments. 2023-2024 marked the debut year for our Popular Music Conservatory, allowing us to welcome an even broader scope of talented students to our campus. This year, CSArts-SGV was also named the #1 Best Charter High School in California by Niche! This honor is a reflection of the tremendous dedication of CSArts-SGV’s students, faculty, and staff, as well as the encouragement we have received from our entire school community through their positive Niche reviews. Thank you all for your overwhelming support!
While I will remain close to the CSArts-SGV family through my new role as Interim Chief Operations Officer at our sister school, Orange County School of the Arts, I am grateful to be able to leave our school in the very capable hands of our new Principal of Arts, Dr. Stephen Cook, and Principal of Academics, Nicole Read. Dr. Cook and Ms. Read have both played instrumental roles at CSArts-SGV since its founding. I truly believe that they are the ideal team to lead CSArts-SGV into its next chapter, which will include our 20242025 middle school expansion! I know they are excited to welcome 6th grade students to CSArts-SGV for the first time this fall.
I would like to take this final opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to our 2023-2024 Season Sponsors, Edison International and Max H. Gluck Foundation, as well as to our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, President’s Circle, Encore, and Family Action Network members. Your commitment to helping shape the lives of our students each and every day is admirable. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Duarte Unified School District (DUSD), the DUSD School Board, and the City of Duarte Council Members, whose partnership is fundamental to the mission of CSArts-SGV. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to acknowledge our parents, alumni, administrators, faculty and staff, members of the local community, and most importantly, our students, who are the biggest inspiration behind everything we do. I know they have been my inspiration for the three years I have had the honor of serving as their Principal.
Now, let’s revel in tonight’s phenomenal lineup of performances and presentations from each of our arts conservatories. Please enjoy all of the magic CSArts-SGV has to offer!
Shine brightly,
Gregory B. Endelman, Ed.D. Principal California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley

OPPORTUNITIES TO INSPIRE, IMPACT, AND INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTIST-SCHOLARS
HEARTS FOR THE ARTS CAMPAIGN
This annual campaign provides additional support for arts conservatory needs beyond each conservatory’s annual budget. A Hearts for the Arts donation will help to purchase special equipment and supplies, bring master artists and industry leaders through our Master Artist Series, and provide additional support for student performances. You can give to this important campaign at www.sgv.csarts.net/HeartsForTheArts.
ARTIST SCHOLAR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
This annual program supports economically disadvantaged students who attend CSArts-SGV. Donations not only help to fund the arts conservatory portion of their school day, but also make certain they have access to the full CSArts-SGV experience, including yearbooks, technology, and school supplies. You can give to this meaningful program at www.sgv.csarts.net/ASSP.
How can you get involved?
We would love to talk with you about how you can help the students at CSArts-SGV. Please contact Amanda Warner, Director of Development, at amanda.warner@sgv.csarts.net.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! #WeAreCSArts
WE PROVIDE AN UNPARALLELED ARTS AND ACADEMIC EDUCATION IN A CREATIVE, CHALLENGING, AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT TO A DIVERSE GROUP OF STUDENTS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ARTS, PREPARING THEM TO REACH THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.
ACADEMICS +
Established in 2017, California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) offers a dynamic school culture that enables students to flourish as artists and scholars. The school currently serves a diverse student body of approximately 1,200 students in grades 7-12. Students in grades 7-8 receive their academic instruction through the Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) and their arts classes through the CSArts-SGV conservatory program. Beginning in grade 9, students attend classes full-time on the CSArts-SGV campus.
In addition to offering a challenging college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars, CSArts-SGV provides aspiring young artists with the opportunity to refine their skills and flourish in one of 11 arts conservatories. Each year, students participate in more than 60 concerts, recitals, staged performances, and exhibitions at a variety of venues, providing students with the unique experience of entertaining and inspiring hundreds of audience members.
CSArts-SGV is a donation-dependent public charter school; no student is offered or denied admission based on financial capacity. The school’s rigorous academic education coupled with advanced arts training impacts many students, molding creative thinkers, leaders, artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
