SA Health Secure Messaging Country SA PHN have partnered with SA Health to implement Secure Messaging to support the exchange of Discharge Summaries, Referrals, Pathology and Imaging reports.

Project Overview SA Health will be introducing a Secure Messaging Service to replace the use of ShareFile, fax machines and traditional posted mail for communications with external healthcare providers like GPs, private specialists, and Allied Healthcare workers. The Secure Messaging Service will offer a technical solution that supports SA Health’s digital health strategic priorities. SA Health has contracted HealthLink to provide the Secure Messaging Service meaning the solution will more easily integrate with the current systems used by GP clinics. The solution allows GP clinics to receive messages/documents directly into their existing clinical software, improving efficiencies by removing the need for manual processes. The system will use the National Interoperability Framework, which means that most Secure Messaging Products will be able to receive and send to SA Health.

What is Interoperable Secure Messaging? Interoperable means that (most) Secure Messaging systems can exchange information whilst safeguarding the encryption and security of the document and retaining data fields for information transfer. In short it means that the Product you have will not need to be replaced; but you may need to update it to use the National NASH certificate. Benefits: • • • • •
