MY PLACE OR YOURS? Lunds Tekniska Högskola (LTH) Urban Planning / Revitalization Lund, Skåne, Sweden By following the ideas proposed by Jane Jacobs and William H. Whyte, Lund University’s engineering campus’ existing public spaces can be reimagined and repurposed to become places of connection between the school and the city community. Both Whyte’s and Jacob’s aspects of improving urban neighbourhoods define a bottomup method - small beginnings to grow into a complex completeness. The idea of place-making within the campus are through the means of implementing new functions, new forms, and overall pockets of revitalization to create a connected urban fabric.

Implementation of physical activities inside the existing green campus by providing new equipment and defined spaces for activities. Different activities range to cater to a varied demographic, as well as being inclusive, all seasonal, and site responsive.
Densification and a modified network of transportations systems aims to improve the urban ecosystem to work coherently and cohesively.

Analysis of existing qualities and predictions were used to determine appropriate implementations - what is the existing foot traffic? Who will the primary users? What is the walking distance to its surrounding nodes? FLOWER FAÇADE Botanical Research & Architectural Study A dynamic façade system developed to exhibit Carolus Linnaeus’, a Swedish Botanist, study of plants that exhibit a strong circadian rhythm. By adjusting to the flowering times of each plant, the dynamic system showcases chronobiolgy. in an dynamic architectural gesture. The façade is designed to be placed in a botanical garden specialized in revealing different species demonstrating the specific chronobiology.

GREEN GLIDE Sustainable Portable Classroom Adaptable / Flexible Design Collaborated with Cynthia Tang Focused on designing improved portable classrooms, this project aims to achieve maximal flexibility, adaptability, and utility through design of its architectural form, interior fixtures and functions. Its movable outer shell clad in solar cell panels strive to provide enough energy needed for the structure to function while also providing shading. Its open interior space is meant to encourage users for personal interpretation.

The concept envisions significant new open spaces that connect to and enhance the existing open space assets that border the Focus Area. In the conceptual illustration shown, some existing employment-generating uses would be replaced by the new open spaces. Further study will be required to determine the precise size and location of these new open spaces.
