Flare Gas Recovery Traditionally, in the Oil & Gas industry, waste and surplus gas has been disposed of by flaring to atmosphere. Today this process is becoming increasingly unacceptable as the industry progresses towards eliminating the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, whilst simultaneously conserving energy. Flare Gas Recovery is the process of recovering the waste gases that would normally be flared, so they can be used as fuel gas elsewhere in the facility. This results in reduced emissions and cost savings.
Crystaltcs facility’s safety depends on properly integrating the Flare Gas Recovery System into the relief header and the flare system. Each gas contaminant and each gas product influence the optimal lineup of treatment steps, and expertise is required to quickly evaluate these. An internal study focusing on Iran has shown that approximately 50-70% of the currently flared gas resources in Iran can actually be made into valuable products with a payback period. Application: Flare Gas Recovery Systems can following processes:
Isolating the flare header with a proprietary-design liquid seal or staging valve Recovering normally flared gases and delivering them back into the facility so they can be processed and re-used as fuel gas
