Food & Beverage
One of the Food & Beverage Team’s ongoing goals is to deliver outstanding service. Our reservation system has shown a marked improvement on Friday nights, and the Member dining experience is getting smoother. More members are making reservations and honoring them by being seated at the time of their reservation.
We would ask if you wish to have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before dinner, please plan to arrive 30-40 minutes earlier than your requested reservation time. This allows the team to offer a smooth evening to all Members and guests. Let’s the staff in both the front and back of the house properly prepare.
We appreciate and will always try to accommodate our walk-in guests as best we can in a timely Manner; however, priority will always be given to those who make reservations and those who call ahead to ask about seating availability. Just as great restaurants do, we strive to pace our Members and guests for a better flow of service. This improves the timing in the kitchen and minimizes delays. We strive to exceed your expectations and appreciate your support.
Service Charge Reminder
The Club’s service charge is 20%; however, for extraordinary service, you may add an additional tip under the “Extra Tip” category. Bon Appetit!

Dear Members and Friends of Coral Ridge Yacht Club,
Marybeth and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our friends who attended our incoming party last month. The turnout was fantastic, and we owe a special thanks to the CRYC staff for their exceptional service, as always. Your well wishes and support mean the world to us, and we’re truly fortunate to have such amazing Members contributing to another successful year.
The Fleet Review this year was nothing short of epic! With 16 boats and over 200 participants, it was a spectacular event. We were honored to have Dean Trantalis, Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, participate in the ceremony and address our membership with his support for our Club. A huge shoutout to Lynne Pease, who volunteered to be our “Officer of the Day” for Fleet Review.
Lynne’s dedication and countless hours organizing the event truly knocked it out of the park!
The Fleet Review party, following the Change of Command where Commodore Hellman passed the watch to me for 2024, was a fitting celebration. I want to express my gratitude to Commodore Hellman for his invaluable help in preparing me and the board for the upcoming year. His guidance and support have been instrumental, and I’m eager to carry on the legacy of our Club.
Exciting News on the Horizon: The Grand Opening of “The Pointe!”
I am thrilled to share with you the latest development in our journey - the upcoming opening of our brand-new venture, The Pointe! The construction teams are currently adding the finishing touches to create a space that promises to be

nothing short of extraordinary. Anticipate a burst of freshness and vibrancy as we gear up for a spring opening. We can’t wait to unveil The Pointe and share this remarkable moment with all of you.
Stay tuned for more details and get ready to mark your calendars for an unforgettable experience at The Pointe!
Best regards,
T. Fred Roche CommodoreDear Members:
It’s the perfect time to reflect on the memorable moments we’ve shared and look forward to the excitement that springtime promises to bring. February commenced with the Incoming Commodore’s Ball to welcome our 74th Commodore, T. Fred Roche. Attendees are still buzzing about the wedge trio salad and the excellent band who got everyone on the dance floor. We had the special opportunity to extend birthday wishes to our new Commodore, making his big day even more memorable. I would be remiss if I did not recognize our Officer of the Day, Lynne Pease, for her time and dedication in fulfilling her role along with our Fleet Captain Abbie McAllister for our Fleet Review. The fun continues at the March 14 Cruisers Dinner when you can cheer on the boat parade participants as they receive their plaques.
I am delighted to announce the launch of our new “Kids Eat Free Night,” which will take place on the first Thursday of every month during the school season (unless otherwise specified). Our February event was a huge success, so bring your appetites and your family on March 7, for some quality time together at the Club. Donna and her team of coaches will organize a range of fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks to all of the lovebirds who came out for our Valentine’s Day Dinner & Dance. With Chef’s decadent menu and sexy sounds performed by Reaxion Band, it was an evening filled with romance enjoyed by all who attended.
Since Valentine’s Day fell on Wednesday, Chef Steve had the brilliant idea to move burger night and happy hour to Saturday. We added live music and presto… it was a rockin night! So much so, we have decided to offer happy hour Wednesday – Saturday, from 4:00 PM- 6:30 PM, with half off drinks and new Burgee Bar Bites. We look forward to seeing everyone – so come and get your happy on.
Looking ahead to March, we have an exciting lineup of events at CRYC! We kick off the month with a live performance by Elvis right in our main dining room. Don’t forget to dress in your best Hawaiian chic attire and your blue suede shoes and dance the night away. For those feeling lucky, our St. Patrick’s Day celebration is not to be missed. Members of all

ages are encouraged to join us; the Kids’ Club will be open or children are welcome to join their parents for the festivities. Our Sailing Foundation is hosting their annual “Party with a Purpose” event, and while we’d love to see you there, if you can’t make it, please consider donating to this worthy cause.
And finally, Easter Sunday will be here before you know it, so hop on over to the app to make reservations early for our largest and most highly anticipated annual Club event. We will offer two seatings: 11 AM – 1 PM and 2 PM – 4 PM. There will be two Easter Egg Hunts to accommodate everyone (one at 10:30 AM for the first seating and 1:30 PM for the second seating). Sunday best is requested: jackets requested, collared shirts and slacks for gentlemen, jackets are requested, flip flops are not permitted nor is denim.
Please call the Front Desk today to reserve your table. With parking expected to be at a premium, we kindly ask for your assistance in carpooling, as this is a save-a-space event.
In closing, your feedback is always truly valued. Join me on Friday, March 22, at 12:00 p.m. for a monthly lunch and my ongoing invitation to “Noon with Nadine.” Limited to six Members max (once per calendar year), per lunch. Please make a reservation with the Front Desk. Enjoy the Express Lunch buffet with my compliments. Cocktails will be by Member signature. Learn more about our Club operations, gain a deeper understanding of what goes on behind the scenes, or just to chat. Additionally, if there is anything you would like to share, please stop by and see me, leave a comment card online, send an email, or call me directly.
See you
at the Club, General Manager

AUXILIARY

Auxiliary Members know that they can rely on our organization to provide a vast array of programming that caters to a vast array of interests among our membership. Just consider how we closed out 2023, with our fabulous November Fashion Show and our December Holiday Luncheon, featuring such wonderful entertainment.
Just consider how we switched gears for a change of pace in January, to begin the new year with a field trip to Flamingo Gardens. And a big “Thank You” goes out to Alicia Sirkin, our featured speaker on February 21, who inspired each of us on the topic, “Living Your Best Life: Body-Mind Strategies for a Healthier You.”
Spring is soon approaching and it’s time to make your reservation for our next event, on March 20. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, former CEO of Celebrity Cruise Line and current Vice Chair, External Affairs for Royal Caribbean, will speak to us about her experiences in the cruise industry. She will discuss her new book, MakingWaves.
While you have your calendar out, please note that our Spring Luncheon will be held April 10. Catarina Lopes Massa of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, in Ithaca, NY, a leading source of information in this field, will treat us to the wonders of the world of birds, including those in our local area. Please mark both dates on your calendar and make your reservations. You can expect these events to fill up quickly.
Auxiliary offers so much to so many of us. If you have not yet joined, contact Jodi at Jodidumas@outlook.com or (610) 417-3855.

Sincerely yours,
Ellen Landauer Secretary

Cocktail Attire
Hello Cruisers,
What a magnificent turnout we had for Fleet Review. As one of the incoming Governors, it was an especially wonderful day. To commemorate that day, please come to the Cruisers March dinner to celebrate all of our Members who showed their boats and hosted so many guests. More importantly, let’s celebrate those who stayed on land and orchestrated this event. Our dinner will be served with an Italian flair! Come join us in our traditional blue and whites and share in the camaraderie of the night.
Thursday evening, February 8, was our Cruisers dinner. Hats off to Donna and the staff for doing a great job decorating the Commodore’s Lounge with Mardi Gras filling the room! The food was marvelous and the jambalaya was superb. We had a great number of new Members in attendance who joined the Cruisers. We are just getting started!
On March 15 we are going to Key Biscayne Yacht Club for dinner. Contact Ramona Fowler for dinner reservations (limit 40) and slips. Saturday night cocktails on Fantasea and dinner on Mystic Star. We will have dinghies for people needing transport.
On April 19-21, Margaret Engkvist and Maribel Bunin will host Faro Blanco. There are still slips available if you want to go to this beautiful resort with a fabulous restaurant, heated pool, lawn activities, fitness center, and more. Call to make your reservations today. Additionally, Marriott Courtyard Faro Blanco is located in the bay next door with magnificent amenities as well. Note Coral Reef Yacht Club will also be there. Book now!
The third weekend of May is Cape Canaveral. It is a trip to the stars! There are hotels and Kennedy Space Center.

Daytrippers, chaired by Meredith Campbell, will have their inaugural outing on Sunrise Bay on Sunday May 27. Calling all center consoles, party boats, and Members all who would like a day on our bay filled with games and our giant floating Swan. Lastly, the dates for our trip to Naples Yacht Club have changed. The trip will be the third weekend in October.
Saturday night, the 19th, is dinner at the Naples Yacht Club. On Friday night, we are going to Naples Sailing Club for cocktails as we share reciprocity there and perhaps we might also do dinner.
See you at the Club!
Kate Nelson ChairDear Captains’ Club Members,
The Captain’s Club continues to grow in size, yet more importantly in the depth of our friendships. We continue to meet every week making it convenient for everyone’s busy schedules. Join us when you can. We meet each Wednesday at noon in the Wheel Room. No reservation needed.
Our next Speaker Luncheon will be on March 6th. For the sake of our staff I do recommend putting in your reservations now. I’ve asked representatives from Yacht Management South Florida to come and present on the latest in hull maintenance. They’ll be talking about the new bottom paints, prop speeds, running gears, and through hull valves…everything you’d want to know. Bring all your questions. Let’s keep our vessels running, and in top shape.
Fair winds and smooth seas,
Chad Scalf Captains’ Club

Construction CORNER

Since our last update, roofing over the kitchen has been installed along with the rooftop mechanical unit screening. A second layer of protective roofing material known as “peel and stick” has been installed on the sloped roof. Installation of the electrical system continues and the fire sprinkler system is in. Interior wall framing is complete. Walk-in coolers are now installed. Furniture for The Pointe has been received and is now in storage ready for delivery.
Pavers will soon be replaced along the east side at dock level. This exercise follows resealing of the seawall which had been causing settlement of the existing pavers.
We will open The Pointe in advance of completing the pickleball court. This will get The Pointe operational sooner for the enjoyment of our members.

An embodiment of paramount elegance, this fine wine beckons with a profound forest aroma, gracefully unfolding a distinctive blend of strawberries and red berries. Its intensity is unwavering, persisting on the palate with a lively and silky character that brings joy to the most discerning connoisseurs. And this Prosecco is known as World’s Lowest sugar Prosecco.

Caymus
Caymus has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe tannins – as approachable in youth as in maturity. Since its founding in 1972, Caymus has become renowned as a consistent leader in the production of Napa Valley Cabernet. Grapes for this wine are farmed in a range of Napa’s sub-appellations – from Coombsville to Calistoga – with fruit from the valley floor creating lushness and the hillsides providing backbone. Diversification enables us to make the best possible wine in a given year, featuring layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe berries.
Bottle $149
