CRU Prayer Diary: April 2022
APRIL
Friday 1 April – Northcross Christian School Year 3 and 4 are on a CRU ® Educational Camp at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Please pray that the students will experience great personal growth as they participate in camp activities, that they will learn more about themselves, and understand how much God cares for them.
Saturday 2 April – Pray for preparations for our annual June EOFY Appeal which will be delivered to CRU supporters in May and June. Please ask that those who receive it will be generous in their support so more young people can hear the good news of Jesus.
Sunday 3 April – Calrossy Anglican School Year 7 is at CRU Lake Mac for their CRU Educational Camp this week. Please pray for a warm sense of community on camp and grow in their relationships with one another. Pray that the leaders will have many gospel conversation opportunities with the students.
Monday 4 April – Give thanks that the CRU Schools Ministry Associates were able to visit the Wenona CRU Groups on a regular basis last year and build some great relationships with the students. Pray that the group continues to be fruitful this year and that we’ll see more Wenona girls at the CRU Groups and on CRU Camps in the future.
Tuesday 5 April – Praise God for the opportunity to run a CRU Educational Camp for Abbotsleigh Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this brand-new booking and new camp program. Please pray for a smooth running of the camp as it is a big camp with various logistics to navigate. Pray that the students will have a great and enjoyable experience.
Wednesday 6 April – Covenant Christian School Year 7 are at CRU Lake Mac with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. Praise God for the opportunity to be out on the water and in enjoying God’s creation. Pray that the students who attend will grow in their relationship with God.
Thursday 7 April – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Belmont Christian College Year 7 at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Please pray that the Summit leaders will be prayerful throughout camp and will do all things for the glory of God as they seek to serve him. The team will also be with Year 8 this week. Please pray for safety as they hike and sleep in tents, and pray for a smooth program given there are lots of logistics to navigate through on this camp.
Friday 8 April – Pray for the lunchtime groups of Christian students who meet in public schools in Perth. Praise God for the student leaders who coordinate these groups, and pray they will be faithful and servant-hearted as they lead their peers. Pray for the CRU West team as they encourage and support these students.
Saturday 9 April – Give thanks for Autumn Study 1 and 2 being held at CRU Galston Gorge and CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the Year 12 students will be able to get a good head start on their HSC and IB study and develop good study habits to help them through the rest of the year. Pray that the discussion groups would be a great time for students to ask questions and receive faithful answers.
Sunday 10 April – Please ask the Lord of the harvest to provide the workers needed to enable His ministry to continue to thrive at CRU Galston Gorge. Please ask God to provide cleaning staff, activity staff and catering team members who will love to serve long term in this ministry.
Monday 11 April – CRU Pulse Day Camp is happening at Rouse Hill Anglican College this week for students in Years K-6. Praise God for this great opportunity to partner with this school. Pray that the Junior Leaders on this camp will step up and learn great leadership skills and as a result of camp grow in their relationship with God.
Tuesday 12 April – Give thanks for Brightwaters that is being held at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the campers will make new friends and have meaningful conversations with the leaders. Please also pray for good weather and safety as campers enjoy lake activities such as water skiing, wakeboarding and tubing.
Wednesday 13 April – Pray for a fun and safe time on Pumped at CRU Lake Mac this week, especially as the campers spend time on the water. Give thanks for Emma Duggan and the team of volunteer leaders, and pray for them as they seek to know and look after all the campers.
Thursday 14 April – Praise God for Autumn Trails. Pray that the girls who attend this camp will have a fantastic week of sisterhood and friendship, while having the opportunity to hear more about Jesus. Please pray for safety as they ride horses during the camp. Please also pray for On Two Wheels. Pray for safety and protection when riding the dirt bikes and ask that God will be stirring the hearts of campers as they learn more about Jesus.
Friday 15 April – Give thanks for CRU Quest in WA, and pray for all the kids and leaders on camp. Please pray for good weather for all the fun activities planned in this holiday camp. Ask that God strengthen the leaders as they engage with campers and share Jesus with them.
Saturday 16 April – Praise God for Matthew*, in Year 8, who came on a CRU ® Educational Camp. After testimony sharing at the campfire, he shared with a leader that he would love to grow more in his knowledge of who Jesus is and own his faith for himself. The next day, Matthew made the decision to recommit his life to following Jesus. Pray that Matthew may continue to grow in his faith while being back at school and at home.
Sunday 17 April – Give thanks that last year Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College saw their Junior CRU Group grow with over 100 students attending each week. Pray that Anna Owen, Schools Ministry Worker, will be able to encourage the students, teachers and chaplains.
Monday 18 April – Praise God for a new CRU Educational Camps opportunity! The team will be with the Danii Foundation at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for the opportunity to run an exciting getaway for parents and kids who have diabetes.
Tuesday 19 April – Please pray for Autumn Study 3 this week, that many students will attend this camp and be encouraged to consider the claims of Christ. Pray that the Year 12 students will be productive in their studies and that the skills learnt on camp will prepare them for a great year ahead.
Wednesday 20 April – Give thanks for Club Mac at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that the campers will have a great time out on the water, have fun participating in all the different activities, and that there will be great friendships made on the camp. Pray that the campers will recognise God’s love for them and be open to chatting about what Jesus means for them.
Thursday 21 April – Pray for Autumn Adventure at CRU Galston Gorge this week, that the campers will enjoy all the planned activities and make new friends. Pray also that the talks, discussion groups, and interactions with leaders will be fruitful and God-glorifying.
Friday 22 April – Praise God for the team on Aussie Adventure and the way they provide the campers with a great experience every time. Please pray for great weather as the campers enjoy some Aussie bush adventures.
Saturday 23 April – Please pray for safety on Dirtbike as the campers ride the bikes, and thank God for the mechanics who work so hard to keep the bikes in good condition. Pray that the talks will engage the campers and initiate some great discussion this week.
Sunday 24 April – Please pray that God might grant the men and women serving on the CRU Board knowledge of His will, through the wisdom and understanding of the Spirit, that they may live lives worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in every way.
Monday 25 April – Pray for the new lunchtime CRU Groups that have started recently in Western Australian schools. Pray that the teachers and student leaders who run these groups will be encouraged by this experience. Pray that students will have opportunities to invite their friends along to hear the gospel.
Tuesday 26 April – Pray for the Camps Committee and give thanks they are willing to partner in this ministry of CRU Camps. Pray that God will work in their lives, give them strength and bless them as they continue to serve. Pray for wisdom and creativity as they plan for the future of CRU Camps.
Wednesday 27 April – Praise God for the opportunity the CRU Educational Camps team have to run a camp for Northcross Christian School Year 5 and 6 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for safety on the water and for a great time at night enjoying a campfire – pray that the leader testimonies will stir the hearts of the campers to consider how God is at work in their lives.
Thursday 28 April – Shire Christian School Year 8 are at CRU Galston Gorge this week with the CRU Educational Camps team. Pray that campers will enjoy the planned activities and that the camp will run smoothly. Pray that the Summit trainees will experience great joy working as a united team and serving God faithfully throughout camp.
Friday 29 April – Give thanks for the CRU staff who work behind the scenes in various roles: Accounts, Payroll, Marketing, Fundraising, Operations, HR and IT. Praise God for equipping them with unique skills and experience as they work to support the frontline ministry of CRU.
Saturday 30 April – Pray for Bailey Troost, Schools Ministry Worker, as he supports the teachers and chaplains who run the CRU Groups at Nepean Christian School. Give thanks for the Senior CRU Group and pray that it will continue to grow in number and that more and more students will come to know Jesus through this group.
