CRU Prayer Diary: March 2022

MARCH

Tuesday 1 March – The King’s School Year 5 are joining CRU Educational Camps for their School camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this new booking and new camp program. Please pray for a smooth camp and that the students will leave camp having a greater understanding of who Jesus is.

Wednesday 2 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Tara Anglican School for Girls Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this exciting new program, and please pray that many mission moments will arise during camp. The team will also be running day programs for Year 12 at their school. As students are equipped with study and leadership skills, pray that they will grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their peers, and consider who Jesus is.

Thursday 3 March – Praise God that students from different schools in Perth have the opportunity to gather together at Inter-CRU each term. Pray that these afternoons will greatly encourage the students who attend, particularly those who have no other Christians at their school.

Friday 4 March – Trinity Grammar Junior School Year 5 are at CRU Lake Mac this week on a CRU Educational Camp. Please pray for great weather so that campers will enjoy the many outdoor activities planned. Pray that the campers will be receptive to the good news of Jesus.

Saturday 5 March – Pray for the autumn CRU Camps season in the upcoming school holidays. Pray that many campers would register for the 12 camps and be eager to enjoy a fun week with exciting activities, supportive leaders and great friends. Ask God that He would be preparing the hearts of the campers who attend, including those who will hear about Jesus for the first time.

Sunday 6 March – The CRU Board will meet this month. Please pray for them as they meet, that they will make wise and godly decisions which will allow the gospel to go out with power through CRU.

Monday 7 March – St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 9 are joining the CRU Educational Camps team this week at CRU Galston Gorge. Please pray for good weather and safety, especially as they complete a hike on the Great North Walk and camp out in tents. Pray that the leaders will be godly witnesses and serve the campers in love and humility.

Tuesday 8 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Shore Preparatory School Year 3 this week. Please pray that the leaders would model what it means to follow Jesus through their words and actions and that the students will understand more about the hope found in Jesus. The team will also be running a camp for Year 5 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Give thanks for these young people and pray that as they engage in the activities and talks, they would grow in their love and knowledge of God.

Wednesday 9 March – St Luke’s Grammar School Year 5 is with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that great relationships will be formed between the leaders and the students, and that God would open many conversation opportunities as they experience His creation out on the water.

Thursday 10 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Macarthur Anglican School Year 3 and 4 at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that the leaders would be filled with energy and enthusiasm as they interact with the campers. Also, pray that the message of the gospel would be clearly preached and understood by these young children.

Friday 11 March – Praise God for His continued goodness to the staff based at CRU Galston Gorge and thank God for the job security they have enjoyed by His grace. Give thanks for the variety of work the team have been involved with in keeping the site cared for and looking beautiful for guests. Thank God for the strong bookings we have this term, and praise Him for the strong relationships we have with our returning guests.

Saturday 12 March – Praise God that CRU Lake Mac has the opportunity to build connections with the local community. The site employs approximately 25 staff from the local area and works with a range of local suppliers. Please pray that CRU will positively impact those we work with in the community and that God will be glorified through our operations.

Sunday 13 March – Praise God for the opportunity to run CRU West’s first Educational Camps this week. Pray for the staff team and leaders, that they will show the love of God to the campers across this week. Praise God for the opportunity to partner with Trinity Theological College students to run this camp.

Monday 14 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with The Scots College Year 3, 4 and 5 this week. Pray for the Year 3 students as they attend their first residential camp at CRU Galston Gorge and pray that the leaders will be showing Jesus’ love. Pray that the leaders will form great relationships with the Year 4 students and create a space where great learning and growth can flourish. Pray that the leaders on The Scots College Year 5 camp at CRU Lake Mac will partner well with the teachers and create a fun camp experience for the students.

Tuesday 15 March – Pray for the CRU ® Holiday Camp directors as they plan their camps, recruit teams, and prepare for their camp in the upcoming camp season. Give thanks for those who are able to serve in this capacity and for the gifts and talents that God has given them. Give thanks for the many volunteer leaders that lead on CRU Camps. Pray that they will be well-equipped to run excellent camps and be eager to share Jesus with campers.

Wednesday 16 March – CRU Lake Mac is one of the best youth camp and conference sites in the country, but we long for it to grow and support camping ministry further. Stage 2 of the Lake Mac redevelopment has been put on hold but, if God allows, we are hoping to finish the site as soon as possible. Please pray for financial success and support to enable the completion of the full site master plan.

Thursday 17 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Northern Beaches Christian School Year 5 and 6 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students and teachers will enjoy the planned activities and ask that God will be preparing the hearts of the campers as they learn more about what it means to have Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Friday 18 March – Over 300 guests will be attending the CRU Business Lunch today at The Fullerton Hotel with guest speaker, Rev Timothy Bowden (Headmaster at Trinity Grammar School). Pray that guests will be encouraged as they hear how God has been working through CRU to bring many young people to faith on camps and in schools. Please pray that guests will give generously to support this vital work.

Saturday 19 March – Give thanks that Kellie Thomson, Schools Ministry Worker, has made a strong connection with the Illawarra Christian School and that we’re seeing more students attending CRU Holiday Camps from this school. Please pray that the Senior School CRU Group will be a place where students will grow in their faith.

Sunday 20 March – Please keep praying for Gary, senior staff and the Board as they consider what might be the next steps for Stage 2 of the Lake Mac Redevelopment, and the timing of these. Pray that they might have clarity in their decision making.

Monday 21 March – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle Year 3 and 4 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that the students would enjoy completing many exciting activities and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is.

Tuesday 22 March – Thank God for the Fundraising team who work tirelessly to resource CRU’s ministry. Give thanks for the skills and experience God has granted them with, and pray for wisdom and creativity as the team undertakes various projects and events.

Wednesday 23 March – William Clarke College Year 7 are at CRU Lake Mac with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. With many campers and a big camp program, please pray that the leaders and teachers will partner well with each other to run a smooth and enjoyable camp for the students.

Thursday 24 March – Give thanks for Arden Anglican School Year 4 as they join the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Pray that they would enjoy their time in God’s creation and pray that the Summit trainees would build good relationships with the students this week. Arden Anglican School Year 6 are at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for the leaders as they seek to be godly witnesses to the campers.

Friday 25 March – Give thanks to God for Christian teachers and chaplains in schools in WA. Please pray that God will place more gospel-minded staff in schools, especially in school chaplaincy and senior management, to allow and facilitate the ministry of CRU amongst school students.

Saturday 26 March – Praise God for Chloe*, in Year 4, who has grown up going to church, but on a CRU Educational Camp, was challenged to read the Bible for herself. She started reading the book of Mark, and one week after camp, she was very pleased to share that she was already up to Mark Chapter 3. Praise God that through camp and the encouragement of leaders, she decided to put her faith into action!

Sunday 27 March – Give thanks for chaplains David Hayman and Rowena Geradts and for the work that they do at Southern Highlands Christian School. The school has a vibrant CRU Group, and students regularly attend FIT (a CRU Group training day for students in Years 5-6). Pray that these students will be passionate about leading others for the Lord. Give thanks that there are students in the Senior School who are willing to lead the Junior CRU Group as well.

Monday 28 March – Give thanks for the work of the Holy Spirit in Gary Hill’s life, granting him new life in Christ and transforming him to be more like Jesus. Pray that God will continue to be at work in Gary’s life and grant him encouragement and energy in his leadership of CRU.

Tuesday 29 March – CRU Educational Camps will be running a day program for Barker College Pre-K to Year 1 at their school this week. Pray that the leaders will be filled with joy and enthusiasm as they run activities and share the gospel in a simple and clear way for this age group.

Wednesday 30 March – Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 11 are joining CRU Educational Camps for a leadership and study skills camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students will be well-equipped and experience personal growth so that they may apply these skills when they return to school or in other areas of their lives.

Thursday 31 March – The CRU Educational Camps team will be with Roseville College Year 5 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray for good weather out on the lake and for safety as they participate in many water activities. Pray that the leaders would be filled with joy and kindness as they engage with the campers.
