CRU Prayer Diary: February 2022

FEBRUARY

Thursday 3 February – Oran Park Anglican College Year 11 are with the CRU Educational Camps team at CRU Galston Gorge this week. Praise God for this brand new camp! Please pray that God will be glorified this week and that positive relationships will be formed between campers, teachers and CRU staff.

Friday 4 February – Pacific Hills Christian School Year 10 will join the CRU Educational Camps team for a Leadership and Study Skills Camp this week at CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students will be well equipped for their final years of high school and pray that the students will be strengthened in their faith.

Saturday 5 February – Thank God for all those who gave so generously towards the COVID Camps Crisis Appeal at the end of last year, helping CRU weather the challenges of COVID. Praise God for how He is working in campers’ lives.

Sunday 6 February – During Term 1, the CRU Educational Camps team is running 46 school camps – their biggest ever Term 1! Praise God for this amazing opportunity to provide exceptional camp experiences and share the gospel with around 4,425 students. Praise God for how He uses the Summit trainees and Educational Camps staff to positively impact the lives of the next generation.

Monday 7 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with Maitland Christian School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students will have a great camp experience participating in various activities. Also, pray for the camp director to lead the team well with humility and grace.

Tuesday 8 February – Please pray for CRU Lake Mac recruitment efforts as the site aims to increase site staff by 30%. These additional team members will help run the large number of camps that are booked in for 2022. Please pray that the new team members will be committed Christians who are passionate to serve in camp ministry.

Wednesday 9 February – Newington College Year 3 and 4 are with the CRU Educational Camps team this week. For half of them, this will be their first residential camp, so pray that the students will have an enjoyable time on camp with minimal homesickness. Pray that the leaders will be able to provide a welcoming and friendly environment.

Thursday 10 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Philip’s Christian College Gosford Year 7 and 8 this week. Please pray that everyone will enjoy the activities at CRU Lake Mac this week and that the gospel will be proclaimed clearly! As Year 8 spend the night outdoors under the stars, pray that the students will enjoy cooking their own food and experiencing a campfire with the leaders.

Friday 11 February – Give thanks to God for the many people who financially support the work of CRU West in schools and on camps in WA. Pray that the ministry work will be financially sustainable so that the gospel can continue to be preached and lives changed.

Saturday 12 February – Praise God for the CRU Groups and Bible study groups at Abbotsleigh. Pray that the student leaders will lead the groups with joy and be great examples of Christ’s love. Pray that Clare Wimble, Schools Ministry Worker, will be able to encourage the students and chaplains when she visits.

Sunday 13 February – Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the many Board Committees, and their faithful work in these areas. Pray that they might continue to lead CRU well, and engage thoughtfully and prayerfully with all the challenges and opportunities that arise.

Monday 14 February – Penrith Anglican College Year 11 are at CRU Lake Mac on a CRU Educational Camp this week. Pray that during and in between the study skills and leadership sessions, the leaders will be able to form great relationships with the students and have opportunities for gospel conversations.

Tuesday 15 February – Parkes Christian School Year 7 and 8 are on a CRU Educational Camp this week at CRU Lake Mac. Please pray that the students enjoy spending time in God’s beautiful creation, especially while completing many exciting outdoor water activities with the leaders.

Wednesday 16 February – The CRU ® Educational Camps team is with Northholm Grammar School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Pray that the campers would enjoy all the planned activities and that the leaders will love and serve the campers in ways that glorify God.

Thursday 17 February – Knox Grammar School Year 5 are at CRU Lake Mac for a father and son camp this week. Praise God for such a large booking with close to 300 people! Pray for a great sense of community for those who attend and that it will be a great time of father and son bonding.

Friday 18 February – Give thanks for the number of schools partnering with CRU Educational Camps in Term 1. We have 34 different schools joining us. Please pray that we will continue to work alongside each school well to provide their students with fantastic camp experiences and help grow campers in their love and knowledge of Christ.

Saturday 19 February – Give thanks for our amazing volunteers who give generously of their time and resources to help out with our many fundraising activities. Praise God for their willingness to help and for their encouragement to us. We are so grateful for them!

Sunday 20 February – Pray for Gary Hill as he leads the staff in unity after two years of COVID disruptions including being separated in location with working from home, travel restrictions, and more! Pray that under Gary’s leadership, the staff might work in a united manner to bring glory to the Lord Jesus as the gospel goes out to young people.

Monday 21 February – Newington College Year 5 and 6 are joining the Summit team for their CRU Educational Camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. As the students participate in a bivouac program and sleep out in tents, please pray that they will gain a greater appreciation of the outdoors and understand more about our mighty God.

Tuesday 22 February – Greenacre Baptist Christian Community School Year 7 and 8 are at CRU Lake Mac on a CRU Educational Camp this week. Praise God for the opportunity to be out on the water with these students. Pray for many gospel conversation opportunities as the students enjoy God’s amazing creation.

Wednesday 23 February – The CRU Educational Camps team is with St Paul’s Grammar School Year 7 at CRU Lake Mac this week. Please pray that God will grant good weather and safety as they participate in many water activities. Pray that God will be working in the hearts of the campers who attend.

Thursday 24 February – Arndell Anglican College Year 7 is on a father and son camp at CRU Lake Mac this week. Praise God for this exciting new booking! Pray that through the various activities, the fathers and sons who attend may be able to strengthen their relationships with one another.

Friday 25 February – Please pray for the new staff in the CRU West team. Pray that they will settle into the team well. Praise God for the provision of more members of this team to be able to support more students at schools in Perth and across WA.

Saturday 26 February – Please pray for Dr Tim Wright as he leads the CRU Board as Chair and for all of the Directors as they guide and oversee CRU. Give thanks for the wisdom and skills they bring to their roles and pray they will use their gifts to help CRU to glorify Jesus.

Sunday 27 February – Give thanks for Emily Thuaux, who leads the Nowra Christian School Junior CRU Group. Praise God that a large number of students attend this group, and many of them are keen to be trained up as leaders. Pray that this group will continue to be a welcoming place for students to explore who God is and that they will come to understand His great love for them.

Monday 28 February – PLC Sydney Year 11 are at CRU Galston Gorge for their CRU Educational Camp this week. Pray for the students as they spend time being equipped with leadership and study skills. Pray that the camp leaders will form great relationships with the students and be granted wisdom to answer any gospel questions they may have.
