CONTEST: Orianthi Invites Musicians To Be Her Band For One Night In L.A. Multi-award-winning platinum recording rock artist–singer, songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire Orianthi—is using artist collaboration platform Talenthouse to find four aspiring musicians—a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and drummer—to literally “Be My Band” and perform with her for one night at a Valentine’s Day concert held at major venue in Los Angeles in 2014. The concert will be taped and aired on TV. “I’m definitely looking forward to meeting four ace musicians who can rock my world,” says the acclaimed Orianthi, who’s internationally known for her guitar work with such artists as Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, Alice Cooper and Carrie Underwood. Orianthi discusses her “BeMyBand” competition here: This chance for aspiring musicians to use Talenthouse to turn their dream into a reality onstage marks the launch of “BeMyBand,” a first-of-its-kind performance opportunity created by the esteemed singer, songwriter and guitarist (and Eurythmics co-founder) Dave Stewart. Musicians from around the world can audition through to be selected for an opportunity to collaborate and support their favorite artists live onstage in a high-profile show. First Artist Bank, a global community bank for creatives to be launched in 2014 and also founded by Stewart, has stepped up to sponsor the inaugural BeMyBand campaign. Dave Stewart says, “I always think about all those great players out there in various towns and cities who would love to play alongside a major artist and go through the whole experience of rehearsing and then perform a big show. There are so many singing competitions; this one is about the players in the band. The guys and girls who help create that magic. First Artist Bank is happy to create opportunities to help artists of all kinds take one step towards making a living from their art and Talenthouse makes this happen on a daily basis–that’s why we are partners.” BeMyBand is produced by Stewart’s multi-faceted Weapons of Mass Entertainment, in collaboration with TalentHouse, and will be launched once every quarter with a different, marquee artist headlining the campaign. First Artist Bank is thrilled to have Orianthi on board as the first headlining artist of BeMyBand. The concert will be taped and aired on TV as part of the BeMyBand series. If you are a drummer, bassist, guitarist, or keyboard player, submit a video of you playing your instrument at

Musicians can begin submitting their work effective immediately and must submit no later than January 24, 2014 (all phases close at 10AM PST). The voting period runs from January 25 through January 31, with the winner to be announced on February 5. For this competition, one additional artist as selected by the community and the host, Orianthi, will receive*: A signed Orianthi PRS signature guitar A signed copy of Orianthi’s new album, Heaven in This Hell A mention on the BeMyBand social media channels * The host will select from the top 10% of the highest voted submissions.

Drug overdose suspected in death of Chris Kelly of 1990s Kris Kross rap duo (CNN) -- Atlanta-area authorities are investigating the death of Chris Kelly, half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, as a possible drug overdose, Fulton County Police Cpl. Kay Lester said Thursday. Kelly, 34, died Wednesday at an Atlanta hospital after he was found unresponsive at his home, police said. After paramedics took him to the hospital, a woman who identified herself as Kelly's friend told an investigator that Kelly had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine Tuesday night, and that she had brought Kelly home "to recover from his drug use," according to a police report. Betty Honey, with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, said that an autopsy showed no signs of trauma or foul play. A toxicology report is expected to be complete in three to four weeks, at which point, a cause of death will likely be determined, she said. Kelly, together with Chris Smith, shot to stardom in 1992 with "Jump," which spent eight weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100.

JD on OREOS This might come as a shock to you, but everyone’s favorite sandwich cookie, Oreos, are vegan. Well, sort of… The question as to whether or not Oreos are, in fact, vegan is a little tricky. Getting to the bottom of this mystery requires taking a good look at what is in an Oreo. Once the ingredients of Oreos have been thoroughly analyzed and broken down, I’ll leave it up to you to decide if they truly are vegan or not. The Creamy Center Perhaps the most defining characteristic of an Oreo cookie is its creamy center. Now, right off the bat, this might lead you to assume that Oreos are not vegan, because after all, they have cream filling. However, the “cream” in an Oreo is not cream at all. It’s actually made from vegetable oils and soy – still not that good for you, but not dairy. The Cookie So, we know the cream filling is safe, but what about the cookie? Well, the cookie itself does not contain any dairy, either. This might come as a surprise because Oreos have a slightly buttery taste to them, but the cookie is just flour, sugar and oils. Diggz McLeod The Big Apple is where handwork pays off and dreams come true. I bring to your attention Dwayne Diggz Mcleod, he was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. Raised in a middle class family, with strong ethical and moral values. "By age eighteen nothing else made sense to me.... It was either doing dirt, hustling, or do what I love and do whatever hard work it takes for me to achieve my goal." Once his mother bought him his first guitar, he never put the guitar down. Whether it was calibrating lab equipment to mining NYC tunnels, the guitar never left his side. Diggz has been around music since he was a kid. " He has music in his blood," said by all his friends. His Dad was in a Caribbean band when he was six years old. Seeing his Dad play day in, and day out taught him hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.

Whether it was calibrating lab equipment to mining NYC tunnels, the guitar never left his side.

Diggz is a musical genius. Artist who have inspired Diggs Mcleod are Bob Marley because, of his love for music, people, and the power of the message in his music. He loved Marley because, he went against the grain at a time when most people would not. He gets inspiration from Jimmy Hendrix because, he was out the box, and an amazing guitar player. Hendrix taught Diggz that you can bring the emotions out of a guitar, like a person. Lenny Kravitz also inspires Diggz because of his style of play. Diggz has been compared to Wyclef Jean by many of his friends and fans. These artist have taught Diggz handwork, sacrifice, dedication, and the vision to make his own brand in the music industry. Diggz is inspired by all genres of music like Rock, Hip hop, Reggae, Pop, and even classical music.

Diggz hits the streets on his bike as hard as he hits the cords on his guitar. Diggz has been riding his bike since 2000. We have all seen the Ruff Riders ride in the video, Diggz is that same kind of rider, and he also rides with them sometimes. He says, "The tricks look easy on television, but in real life, its nothing easy about it, says Diggz." Digg'z gets his tuffness from MMA training and the ruff streets of NY. The brand of Diggz Mcleod will be something to remember, and the merchandise will be something to keep for a lifetime. I am sure the world will come to notice who he is and their will be millions that come to love his music, dedication, and swagger. At this time Diggs Mcleod is in the studio working really hard. His in house staff are working on getting him on tour with the right people.
