The Shibui Farmhouse is sustainable, built as closely as possible to the German PassivHaus specifications, resulting in extremely energy-efficient construction. We use 200mm+ eco fibre insulation rather than the standard 100mm.

Triple glazed windows and glass panels are used, as well as, natural paints and wood preserves - avoiding all toxic chemicals. We use natural gas and heat exchange rather than kerosine. Where possible, we use geothermal and solar energy.
