AIMING FOR THE MOON, THE STARS, AND PLANET IX

In September 1962 President John F. Kennedy proclaimed that within the decade, the human race would have taken their first steps upon the moon. “We choose to go to the moon in this decade,” Kennedy said, “and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”

Miraculously, in the summer of 1969, Neil Armstrong left the first human footprints on the lunar surface, an incredible feat of engineering and bravery that had appeared impossible just a few years before. It just took the right man to tell the world that it was possible.

In total, just 12 people have set foot on the moon and the last manned flight to the moon was in 1972. What has happened to that inspired vision that captured the hearts of millions around the world? Where is the urge to fight against nature herself, to protest against the forces that ground us on Earth, to aim for the stars and achieve the impossible in the present day? For nearly 50 years that sensation has been missing. But I believe at Crowd1, we’ve found it again.
