BECOME COMFORTABLE BEING UNCOMFORTABLE

NETWORK DIRECTOR W hy is it that some people seem to succeed in everything while others never succeed in anything? There is of course not one single answer or magic formula to answer that question.

There are many components to being a success in whatever you do. Some components are hard work, goal setting, planning and great attitude. But one thing is certain, and that is that if you don’t change, you will only have what you had when you started your journey. Why is that? Because what you have and what you are right now is the sum of all your thoughts up until today.

Remember, thoughts are things. Everything you have or don’t have today is a result of who you are and how you think. That’s why your journey to success starts with personal development. It’s when you start changing the way you think that you will change the outcome. Personal development is essential for any student in life who wants to have success. Just as simple as that. So if it's that simple to do, why aren’t more people successful? It’s also simple to not do it.

Most people are not used to change, and some are in fact afraid of it. That’s why so few people really go all the way. They have high expectations and don’t realise that having problems and managing to stay on top of things is part of the equation. They have been taught that “free stuff is good” and that things are supposed to be easy, when the opposite is true. The student of success has got to realise and accept that all growth is outside their comfort zone. You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

That is where the goal setting comes into the picture again. It will help the student of success to override the feelings of failure when the going gets tough. To bypass the feeling that it’s not possible or that it’s not going to work. Those are false feelings and emotions. Because if you just keep moving, you might just succeed. There is nothing so motivational as taking action. Action you take because of the goals you want to achieve. It's better to act your way into a new feeling than to feel your way into a new action.

If you do that the best of your life will be the rest of your life, because you are not who you think you are, you are who you think you are.
