The July Mega Event was brimming with positive energy, inspirational speeches, and exciting previews of what’s to come over the next three months. We learned about the upcoming launch of PLANET IX, were treated to inspiration from the MIT educated Anthony Chatelain, and other presentations on the theme of moving from reactive to proactive. Becoming more proactive was the golden thread running through the Mega Event and will continue to be vital for Crowd1 Affiliates to bear in mind in the months ahead!

Uniting the youth through the beautiful game.

Andile Nkabinde has used his extra income from his work with Crowd1 to set up a football league, supporting women and children in his community.

After joining Crowd1 in July 2019 as a route toward financial freedom, Andile Nkabinde looked around his community in Bergville, South Africa and saw something that concerned him.

“I love my community here in Bergville but everytime I come back, there is one thing that disturbs me and that is to see these young kids that are growing up - they are not able to build a future for themselves. There are no jobs for them.”

Nkabinde had worked locally as a waiter growing up, but those jobs are now gone, and he believes this leads to alcohol abuse and teenage pregnancy among young people. “Teenage pregnancy is being caused by the youth who are consuming alcohol in the community. They don’t have anything to do, so they meet with their friends, drink alcohol and that leads to teenage pregnancy.”
