URBAN MINISTRY The interns have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the urban ministries of Crossover. These include: Crossover Health Services, Crossover Preparatory Academy, Crossover Development Company, Crossover Bible Church, the Crossover Kids Program, the StreetLeader Program, and Crossover Sports Association. Additionally, they experience first-hand the importance of living in one’s place of ministry, immersed not only in the life of the church, but the Hawthorne neighborhood and the greater north Tulsa community.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Leadership development is one of the key components of Christian Community Development and absolutely critical to seeing north Tulsa restored. The Crossover Internship Program is designed to help develop leaders between the ages of 18 and 29 years old who share our passion for urban ministry, discipleship and intentional Christian community.

Additionally, we believe leadership development reflects the Gospel best when it includes young adults who grew up in north Tulsa, as well as those who did not—full participation in the ministry of reconciliation that we have been given (2 Corinthians 5:18).

We believe all followers of Christ should make disciples, teaching them all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:18-20). We also believe all Christians have a duty “to do justice. love, mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). Towards this end, Crossover interns will be trained and engage in the disciplemaking efforts of Crossover Bible Church, especially through its Missional Teams and Huddles.

INTENTIONAL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY Interns will partake in a unique interpretation of Christian community, as they live with each other and Crossover staff.

Male interns in the Perkins House, under the care of DeMarco Taylor, and female interns in the Sojourner House, under the care of Katie Lepine and her family. Interns meet regularly to study a variety of books related to our twin pillars of discipleship and urban ministry. Interns are expected to read one book per month and engage in group discussion, facilitated by the house leaders and other mentors.

WEEKLY EXPECTATIONS OF THE CROSSOVER INTERN

At this time, we’re only able to offer same-gender housing for single persons and unable to accommodate families, single parents with children, etc. Regrettably, neither home is ADA accessible. 1. Daily breakfast and prayer with house leader 2. Weekly common meal with guy and girl interns and house leaders 3. Bi-monthly one-on-one meetings with house leaders

PROGRAM DETAILS

4. Group book study meetings with house leader and mentors

1. Single men or women, ages 18-29, are welcome to apply.

2. The program runs for one year, with the option to apply for a second year.

3. Perkins House and Sojourner House are both fully furnished and rented at $400 for a single room and $225 for a shared room, all bills paid, with full kitchen and laundry facilities.

4. Five breakfasts per week and all curriculum readings are provided as part of the program.

5. Weekly Huddles: getting into the Word with 3-5 guys or girls

6. Weekly Missional Teams: fellowship focused on supporting a program or serving in a particular location 7. Monthly dinner with Crossover leadership couples 8. Worship with Crossover Bible Church

5. Crossover interns are asked to choose one of two tracks: •

Work for Crossover. Crossover Interns are able to raise support for a position working in one of Crossover’s organizations not to exceed 30 hours a week.

Work a job outside of Crossover. The elements of the internship program require a commitment of 10+ hours a week (see Weekly Expectations), so Crossover Interns must have a job that works with the internship program schedule.
