Pledge made to support veterans

A BARNSLEY team’s staff were ‘honoured’ to have joined the nationwide network of organisations that have pledged their support through the Armed Forces Covenant.

Barnsley Facilities Service provide estates, facilities, procurement and outpatient pharmaceutical services to the healthcare sector and operate as a subsidiary to Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The commitment, they say, reflects their deep gratitude to the armed forces community and their determination to make a positive difference.

Robert McCubbin, managing director, said: “As an organisation, we value diversity and inclusivity.

“By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we strengthen our commitment to promoting equality of opportunity for all, including those who are connected to the armed forces.

“We are determined to foster an environment that celebrates the contributions and sacrifices made by the armed forces community, promoting a culture of mutual respect and appreciation.

Sharon Botham, learning and organisational development trainer, added: “We had the pleasure of captain Malcolm Birkett MBE coming to meet some of our ex-forces staff, and witnessing Robert signing the covenant.”
