Today I wasn't ready for work, Thursday came really fast this week. My bus got here a little early, so I beat my supervisor here. I actually felt really proud to be early! This month’s theme is etiquette and ethics. I notice that when I am on time for meetings, or even early, I feel better prepared and ready to engage with my coworkers. I also notice that when people are late to meetings, they seem flustered. A goal that I have is to arrive early or right on time for meetings so that I can make a good impression and so that I feel more prepared to participate.
I think etiquette and ethics means respect for people, property and company rules. I see a lot of people who are wearing professional clothes. I wonder where you learn about what is appropriate to wear at work? A goal for next week is to ask my supervisor to explain where I can find information about company rules, especially rules about what is/is not appropriate clothing for the workplace. Overall, I had a good day. I’m proud of the projects that I worked on, including the filing project for Saul and covering the front desk for Gina, while she had her lunch. I’m slowly learning about etiquette and ethics of my company and hope to learn even more next week.
